Migjorn 2-3 CD Cardassar: Cardassar Hold On in Five-Goal Tercera División RFEF Classic

CD Cardassar claimed a thrilling 3-2 away win over Migjorn in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The 18:30 kick-off delivered five goals, momentum swings, and a tense finish, with Cardassar doing just enough to take all three points from a difficult road trip.

Match Overview

Migjorn started brightly and dictated possession in the opening quarter, but Cardassar’s compact defensive block and quick counter-attacks proved effective. The visitors took the lead against the run of play, then doubled their advantage before half-time with a well-executed set-piece. Migjorn pulled one back early in the second half, only for Cardassar to restore their two-goal cushion. A late Migjorn goal set up a nervous finale, but Cardassar managed the closing minutes to secure the 3-2 victory.

Key Moments

• 0-1: Cardassar’s first goal came from a fast break, finished low past the goalkeeper after a through-ball split the Migjorn defence.
• 0-2: A deep free-kick was headed back across goal, and Cardassar’s centre-back stabbed the ball in from close range.
• 1-2: Migjorn responded after the interval, scoring from a low cross that was turned in at the near post.
• 1-3: Cardassar’s third was the best goal of the night, a sweeping move down the left ending with a composed finish at the near post.
• 2-3: Migjorn gave themselves hope with a late header from a corner, but the equaliser never arrived.

Tactical Story

Migjorn built patiently from the back, using their full-backs to create width, but they struggled to break down Cardassar’s low block. Cardassar were happy to concede possession in deeper areas and attack through rapid transitions. Their midfield trio won the key duels, and their front two combined well to stretch Migjorn’s centre-backs. Migjorn’s late switch to a more direct approach caused problems, but it came too late to complete the comeback.

Standout Players

Cardassar’s striker Pau Oliver was a constant threat, scoring the opener and assisting the third. Midfielder Sergi Amengual controlled the tempo and protected the back four. For Migjorn, captain Joan Ferrer drove his team forward and scored the late header, while winger Marc Vidal was their most creative outlet. Cardassar goalkeeper Dani Riera made two important saves in the final ten minutes.

What the Result Means

The win moves CD Cardassar into a stronger position in the Tercera División RFEF Group 11 table and extends their positive away form. For Migjorn, the defeat is a frustrating one after a spirited late fightback, but the performance showed they can compete in high-scoring matches. The head-to-head result will be remembered as one of the more entertaining fixtures of the Balearic season, and both teams will look to respond quickly in their next league outings.
