La Solana produced a devastating attacking display to thrash AD San Clemente 4-0 in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, 20 September 2026. The home side were rampant from start to finish, scoring twice in each half to secure a comprehensive victory that will boost their confidence for the challenges ahead.

Match Overview

La Solana needed just five minutes to take the lead. Javier Cuesta, the team's leading striker, pounced on a loose ball in the box and fired home from close range. The early goal set the tone for what would be a one-sided contest. The home side continued to dominate possession and doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute when Álvaro Ruiz finished off a flowing move with a composed finish from the edge of the area.

Any lingering hopes of a San Clemente comeback were dashed early in the second half. Cuesta scored his second of the game in the 49th minute, converting a penalty after a foul in the box. The visitors, already struggling to contain La Solana's relentless attacks, looked deflated. Mario García added a fourth in the 81st minute, heading home a pinpoint cross to complete the rout.

Tactical Story

La Solana lined up in an attacking 4-3-3 formation, with the front three interchanging positions and causing havoc for the San Clemente defence. The midfield trio controlled the tempo, moving the ball quickly and accurately to create overloads in wide areas. The full-backs pushed high, providing width and delivering a constant stream of crosses into the box.

AD San Clemente, on the other hand, were passive and disorganised. Their defensive line sat too deep, allowing La Solana to camp in their half. When they did win possession, they gave the ball away cheaply, inviting more pressure. Their midfield was overrun, and their attackers were starved of service. It was a tactical mismatch from the first minute, and La Solana's intensity never dropped.

Standout Players

Javier Cuesta (La Solana): The striker was unstoppable, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence and aggression. His movement in the box was a constant problem for the San Clemente defenders.

Álvaro Ruiz (La Solana): The attacking midfielder was the creative engine, scoring one and assisting another. His vision and passing range were instrumental in breaking down the opposition.

Mario García (La Solana): The winger was a constant threat down the right, delivering dangerous crosses and capping his performance with a well-taken header.

Table and Season Impact

The victory moves La Solana into the promotion playoff places, providing a significant boost to their season. With four goals scored and a clean sheet, it was a perfect afternoon for the coaching staff. AD San Clemente, meanwhile, remain rooted in the lower reaches of the table and will need a dramatic improvement to avoid a relegation battle. Their defensive frailties were exposed repeatedly, and they must regroup quickly.

La Solana will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, while San Clemente face a difficult task to rebuild confidence. The margin of victory was fully deserved, and La Solana's fans will be hoping for more performances like this in the coming weeks.
