AD San Clemente produced a stunning away performance to defeat Huracan de Balazote 4-2 in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday evening. In a match that swung back and forth, the visitors' clinical finishing and ruthless counterattacking proved decisive, handing Huracan their first home defeat of the campaign.

Match Overview

The game started at a frantic pace. Huracan de Balazote, roared on by their home crowd, took an early lead through Javier Buendía, who finished off a flowing move down the right. But AD San Clemente responded almost immediately, equalising within five minutes when Diego Conde pounced on a defensive error and slotted past the goalkeeper.

San Clemente then took control, scoring twice in a devastating ten-minute spell before half-time. Álvaro García made it 2-1 with a header from a corner, and Sergio Molina added a third with a low drive from the edge of the box. Huracan pulled one back early in the second half through Carlos Martínez, but San Clemente sealed the win late on when Pablo Gómez finished a lightning counterattack to make it 4-2.

Tactical Story

Huracan de Balazote set up in a 4-3-3, looking to press high and force errors. That approach worked early on, but once San Clemente weathered the initial storm, they exploited the space behind Huracan's advanced full-backs. San Clemente's 4-4-2 mid-block was disciplined, and their two strikers, Conde and Gómez, constantly dropped deep to link play before spinning in behind.

The key tactical battle was in wide areas. San Clemente doubled up on Huracan's wingers, forcing them inside into congested central zones. When Huracan did get crosses away, San Clemente's centre-backs dealt with them comfortably. Going forward, San Clemente's direct running and quick vertical passes repeatedly cut through Huracan's midfield, and their four goals were the reward for a perfectly executed away-day game plan.

Standout Players

Diego Conde (AD San Clemente) was outstanding, leading the line with intelligence and taking his goal with real composure. Sergio Molina controlled the midfield, breaking up play and driving forward, while Pablo Gómez capped a fine team performance with the clinching goal. For Huracan de Balazote, Javier Buendía was a constant threat and took his goal well, but the home defence will be disappointed with the ease with which San Clemente carved them open.

Season Impact

The victory is a significant statement of intent from AD San Clemente, who move into a more comfortable position in the Tercera División RFEF standings. For Huracan de Balazote, the defeat is a setback in their push for promotion, and it exposes defensive vulnerabilities that opponents will look to exploit. The head-to-head record now favours San Clemente, and this result could prove crucial in the race for a play-off spot.

Huracan must regroup quickly, with a tough away fixture on the horizon. San Clemente, meanwhile, will take huge confidence from a four-goal away display and will believe they can challenge the division's top teams if they maintain this level of finishing.
