Match overview

Deportivo Maritimo began the match positively, pressing forward and asking questions of the Cartagena B defense. Their reward came when they opened the scoring, and they doubled the lead soon after with another well-worked attack. Cartagena B improved as the game went on and pulled one goal back to set up an exciting finale. The visitors pushed for an equalizer, but Maritimo defended their box bravely and managed the clock well in the closing stages.

Key moments

• Maritimo took the lead after a sustained spell of pressure, finishing a move that started from midfield.
• The home side added a second goal before the break, giving themselves a valuable cushion.
• Cartagena B responded with a goal of their own and applied late pressure, but Maritimo held firm.

Tactical story

Maritimo’s game plan was based on quick transitions and aggressive pressing in the opponent’s half. That approach worked well during the first period, when Cartagena B struggled to play through the midfield. After conceding twice, the visitors adjusted and began to find more space between the lines. Maritimo dropped deeper to protect their lead, relying on compact defending and timely clearances. The final minutes were nervy, but the home side’s organization saw them through.

Standout performers

Maritimo’s attacking players were influential in building the two-goal lead, while their goalkeeper made a key save late on to deny Cartagena B an equalizer. The defense also produced important blocks under pressure. For Cartagena B, the response after going behind showed character, and their midfield worked hard to bring the team back into the contest.
