Cultural de Durango secured a convincing 2-0 home win over Pasaia KE in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Saturday night, combining control with cutting edge at key moments. Durango took the lead in the first half and added a second after the break, while a disciplined defensive display kept Pasaia at arm's length for long spells.

Match overview

Durango set the tone early with a high line and aggressive pressing, forcing Pasaia into several hurried clearances. The opener arrived from a well-constructed attacking move, and the home side continued to create the better chances before half-time. Pasaia improved after the interval and enjoyed a brief spell of possession, but Durango's second goal effectively settled the contest. The clean sheet was just reward for a focused team performance.

Key moments

• 27' — Durango take the lead with a first-time finish after a low cross from the right.
• 41' — Pasaia's best chance of the first half is headed over from a corner.
• 56' — Durango goalkeeper makes a strong save to deny a shot from the edge of the area.
• 74' — Durango double their lead with a composed finish after a quick transition.
• 88' — Pasaia push forward, but Durango defend the box comfortably.

Tactical story

Durango's midfield controlled the rhythm of the game, moving the ball quickly and finding space between Pasaia's defensive lines. The home side's full-backs provided width, allowing the forwards to drift inside and occupy the centre-backs. Pasaia tried to press higher in the second half, but that only created more room for Durango to counter. The second goal came from exactly that scenario, with Durango breaking quickly and finishing with precision.

Standout performers

Durango's attacking midfielder was at the heart of most good things, linking play and creating chances in the final third. The centre-back pairing also deserves praise for a composed display, stepping up to intercept passes and winning the important aerial duels. Pasaia's goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, while their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

What the result means

The three points move Cultural de Durango into a stronger position in the Tercera División RFEF standings and reinforce their home form. Pasaia KE will look to respond quickly, but they will need to find more penetration against organised defences. For Durango, the performance offered a clear template: control the ball, press with purpose, and take the chances when they arrive.
