CD Cristo Atlético claimed a 2-0 away victory over Colegios Diocesanos in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 24 October 2026, combining disciplined defending with two well-taken goals to secure a valuable three points.

Match overview

Cristo Atlético started with a clear plan: stay compact, win the midfield duels and attack quickly when possession was recovered. The visitors took the lead in the 22nd minute after a composed attacking move found space between the home side’s defensive lines. Colegios Diocesanos looked to respond immediately, but the away side’s organisation limited clear openings.

The second goal arrived in the 71st minute, effectively settling the contest. Cristo Atlético won the ball in a dangerous area and moved it forward with purpose before producing a finish that gave the goalkeeper little chance. From there, the visitors managed the game expertly, slowing the tempo and protecting their clean sheet through the final stages.

• 22nd minute: CD Cristo Atlético take the lead with a measured finish after a patient attacking move.
• 35th minute: Colegios Diocesanos produce their best chance of the first half, but the effort is saved.
• 58th minute: The home side push more players forward, forcing Cristo Atlético to defend a sustained spell.

Tactical story

Cristo Atlético’s success was built on balance. They defended in a compact block, denied space in central areas and forced Colegios Diocesanos to play wider than they would have liked. When the visitors won the ball back, they transitioned quickly, with midfield runners supporting the forward line and creating problems on the counter.

Colegios Diocesanos enjoyed more possession in the second half but struggled to turn that territory into clear chances. Cristo Atlético’s defensive discipline remained intact, and their second goal came from the kind of high turnover that had been a feature of their performance all evening. The away side’s game management in the final 15 minutes was particularly impressive.

Standout performers

Cristo Atlético’s central midfielders controlled the rhythm of the match, winning loose balls and distributing efficiently under pressure. The centre-backs were commanding in the air, while the forward line worked hard to close down defenders and create the second goal. For Colegios Diocesanos, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the scoreline respectable, and the captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

What the result means

The win strengthens CD Cristo Atlético’s position in the Tercera División RFEF standings and highlights their ability to deliver disciplined away performances. Colegios Diocesanos will be disappointed with the result but can take lessons from a second half in which they showed more attacking intent. Both sides now prepare for their next fixtures, with Cristo Atlético looking to build momentum and the hosts aiming to turn possession into more meaningful chances.
