Club Deportivo Tropezon claimed local bragging rights in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF with a 2-0 win over SD Revilla at the Estadio Santa Ana. In a hard-fought Cantabrian contest, Tropezon's control in midfield and clinical finishing proved decisive.

The home side took the lead before half-time and added a second after the break, managing the game intelligently to secure all three points. SD Revilla pushed for a way back but were kept at arm's length for much of the evening.

Match overview

CD Tropezon started with intensity, pressing high and forcing SD Revilla into early mistakes. The visitors looked to play through midfield but found little space. Tropezon's 4-2-3-1 shape allowed them to dominate the centre and create opportunities from wide areas.

Revilla improved as the first half wore on, yet they struggled to test the Tropezon goalkeeper. The second goal effectively ended their resistance.

Key moments

• 31st minute: Javier Cobo broke the deadlock with a precise header from a left-wing cross.
• 49th minute: SD Revilla's best chance came early in the second half, but a goal-line clearance kept Tropezon ahead.
• 74th minute: Mario Fernández doubled the lead with a composed finish after a flowing team move.
• 90th minute: Tropezon saw out the final minutes comfortably to record a clean sheet.

Tactical story

Tropezon's midfield pairing controlled the rhythm, winning second balls and feeding the attacking players in dangerous positions. Their full-backs pushed high, pinning SD Revilla back and limiting their counter-attacking options.

Revilla tried to change shape after half-time, bringing on extra width, but Tropezon's defensive organisation held. The home side dropped slightly deeper late on and protected their lead with maturity.

Standout players

Javier Cobo was the man of the match, scoring the opener and leading the line with intelligence. Mario Fernández's goal capped a lively performance, while the Tropezon defence deserved credit for a collective clean sheet. For SD Revilla, the goalkeeper made several important saves to prevent a heavier defeat.

Season impact

The victory strengthens CD Tropezon's position in the Tercera División RFEF and boosts their push for a promotion play-off place. SD Revilla leave with plenty to work on, especially in the final third. In a Cantabrian derby, however, it is Tropezon who will enjoy the bragging rights.
