CF Trival Valderas claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Las Rozas on 4 October 2026 in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF, with a late winner settling a contest that swung one way and then the other.

Match overview

Trival Valderas started brightly and took an early lead through a well-worked move, but Las Rozas responded after the break and equalised with a composed finish. For a spell, the visitors looked the more likely to score again, only for Valderas to find a decisive goal in the closing stages. It was a match of fine margins, decided by a moment of individual quality.

Both teams contributed to an entertaining encounter, with chances at both ends and a fiercely contested midfield battle. The result keeps Valderas on an upward trajectory while leaving Las Rozas to reflect on a missed opportunity to climb the table.

• 22nd minute: Rubén Sanz put Trival Valderas ahead with a low shot from just inside the penalty area after a neat lay-off from his strike partner.

Tactical story

Trival Valderas set up with a compact 4-4-2 that looked to deny Las Rozas space in central midfield. Their early goal allowed them to sit slightly deeper and absorb pressure, but Las Rozas adapted well after half-time by pushing their full-backs higher and overloading the flanks. That adjustment led to the equaliser.

Valderas responded by introducing fresh legs in wide areas and switching to a more direct approach in the final 20 minutes. The winning goal came from a moment of individual brilliance rather than a sustained spell of pressure, but it was no less deserved given their resilience. Las Rozas will feel they should have taken at least a point, having created several good chances.

Defensively, Valderas were organised for the most part, though the equaliser exposed a momentary lapse in concentration. Their ability to regroup and find a late goal highlighted the character within the squad.

Standout players

Adrián Cabrera was the hero for Trival Valderas, his late strike proving the difference between the sides. Rubén Sanz also impressed with his goal and overall link-up play. At the back, Diego Herrero made a vital save at 1-1 that kept his team in the match.

For Las Rozas, Sergio Peña was lively throughout and took his goal well, while their midfielder Pablo Jiménez dictated play for long periods. However, the visitors were left to rue their failure to convert pressure into more goals.

Season impact

The win moves CF Trival Valderas further clear of the relegation zone and into a more comfortable mid-table position, with the possibility of pushing towards the play-off places if they can maintain their recent form. Late victories like this can be worth more than just three points in terms of belief.

Las Rozas, meanwhile, miss the chance to apply pressure on the teams above them. Their away performances have been competitive, but converting draws and narrow defeats into wins will be essential if they are to achieve their season's objectives. On this evidence, both sides have reasons for optimism, but only Valderas left with the points.
