CF Trival Valderas and Cala Pozuelo played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 18 October 2026, with Cala Pozuelo recovering from two goals down to claim a point. The match swung dramatically after half-time, turning what looked like a comfortable home win into a tense, end-to-end contest.

Match overview

Trival Valderas started strongly and looked in control for much of the first half. Their midfield pressed high, forced turnovers and created chances through quick combinations around the penalty area. Cala Pozuelo struggled to keep possession and conceded twice before the break. However, the visitors reorganised after half-time, pushed their wingers higher and began to ask serious questions of the Trival defence.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Trival Valderas took the lead after a flowing move down the right, finished with a composed strike inside the box.
• 34th minute: The hosts doubled their advantage from a set piece, with a header looping beyond the goalkeeper.
• 58th minute: Cala Pozuelo pulled one back after a sustained spell of pressure, converting from close range following a scramble.
• 84th minute: The equaliser arrived when Cala Pozuelo’s substitute forward latched onto a through ball and finished low into the corner.

Tactical story

Trival Valderas’ first-half dominance came from winning the midfield battle. Their central trio closed down quickly and allowed Cala Pozuelo little time to build. The second half was a different story: Cala pushed their full-backs forward, stretched the pitch and found space in behind. Trival dropped deeper to protect their lead, but that invited pressure, and Cala’s numerical advantage in wide areas eventually paid off.

Standout performers

Trival’s No. 10 was the game’s most creative player in the first half, linking play and creating the opening goal. Cala Pozuelo’s substitute made a decisive impact, adding energy and scoring the late equaliser. Both goalkeepers made important saves, particularly during a frantic final 15 minutes when either side could have won it.

Season impact

The draw leaves both teams with mixed feelings. CF Trival Valderas will be frustrated to have surrendered a two-goal lead, while Cala Pozuelo will take confidence from their second-half comeback. In the competitive Tercera División RFEF Group 7 standings, every point matters, and Cala’s resilience could prove valuable as the season progresses.
