Celtiga and CF Alondras played out a goalless draw in their Spanish Tercera División RFEF Group 1 derby, a result that underlined the defensive discipline of both sides but left the home supporters frustrated at the final whistle. The 0-0 scoreline at the Campo de Fútbol de Celtiga means the two Morrazo rivals remain separated by fine margins in the early-season standings.

Match Overview

The local derby between Celtiga and CF Alondras was always likely to be a tight, combative affair, and so it proved. Clear-cut chances were at a premium throughout, with both defences organised and alert to the danger. Celtiga enjoyed slightly more of the ball in the first half, pushing their full-backs high and looking to cross early, while Alondras sat compact and looked to spring counter-attacks through their pacey wide players.

After the break, the game became more stretched, but the quality in the final third deserted both teams. A point apiece keeps both clubs in the chasing pack, though each will feel they could have edged a nervy contest that never quite caught fire.

Key Moments

• 27th minute – Celtiga’s best chance: A deep cross from the left found the head of the Celtiga centre-forward, but his effort drifted just wide of the far post.
• 39th minute – Alondras respond: A swift counter-attack ended with a low shot from the edge of the box that forced a strong save from the Celtiga goalkeeper.
• 58th minute – Goalline clearance: Alondras thought they had scored from a corner, but a Celtiga defender cleared off the line at the second attempt.
• 76th minute – Late pressure: Celtiga pushed bodies forward and won a series of corners, but the Alondras backline stood firm, heading everything clear.

Tactical Story

Celtiga lined up in a 4-3-3 and tried to dominate the midfield through quick combinations, but Alondras matched them man-for-man in the centre of the park. The visitors’ 4-4-1-1 shape made it difficult for Celtiga to find pockets of space between the lines, forcing the home side into hopeful crosses. When Alondras did win the ball, they looked to release their striker quickly, but the final pass was often overhit.

Neither manager was willing to abandon their defensive structure entirely, and the substitutions made in the final 20 minutes were more about fresh legs than a change in approach. It was a classic derby that prioritised not losing over winning.

Standout Players

The Celtiga goalkeeper was the busiest of the two shot-stoppers, making a superb second-half save to deny a one-on-one opportunity. In front of him, the central defensive partnership read the game well and dealt with constant aerial pressure. For CF Alondras, the defensive midfielder was outstanding, breaking up play and distributing calmly under pressure. Their left-back also impressed with a disciplined display, balancing defensive duties with occasional overlapping runs.

Table Impact and What’s Next

The goalless draw leaves both Celtiga and CF Alondras in a congested mid-table area of the Tercera División RFEF Group 1. With games coming thick and fast, both sides will be desperate to rediscover their scoring touch. Celtiga face a tricky away trip next time out, while Alondras return home hoping to turn their defensive solidity into a first win of the month. The rivalry remains delicately poised for the reverse fixture later in the season.
