CD Mirandés B slipped to a narrow 0-1 defeat against CyD Leonesa Júpiter Leones B in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday night, with a single goal proving enough to settle a tight, hard-fought encounter.

The visitors from León took all three points back home thanks to a well-executed finish, leaving the reserve side of Mirandés to reflect on a performance that offered plenty of effort but not enough cutting edge in the final third.

Match Overview

• Competition: Spanish Tercera División RFEF
• Fixture: CD Mirandés B vs CyD Leonesa Júpiter Leones B
• Final score: CD Mirandés B 0-1 CyD Leonesa Júpiter Leones B
• Date: 20 September 2026

How the Game Unfolded

Mirandés B began the match with intent, pressing high and looking to force mistakes from a Leonesa B side that is well used to playing out from the back. The hosts' front line worked hard, closing down the centre-backs and trying to funnel possession towards the touchline.

That early pressure produced half-chances but no clear opener. As the first half wore on, Leonesa B gradually played their way into the game, finding space between the lines and starting to dictate the rhythm. Their reward came with the only goal of the night, finished clinically after a flowing move that stretched the Mirandés B defence across the width of the pitch.

The second half was a story of Mirandés B chasing the game. The home side pushed their full-backs high, increased the number of crosses into the box and forced a series of corners, but Leonesa B defended their lead with maturity, dropping into a compact block and clearing their lines with authority whenever danger threatened.

Key Moments

• First half, 22nd minute: Mirandés B's best chance of the opening period is headed over from a corner.
• First half, 44th minute: CyD Leonesa Júpiter Leones B score the decisive goal, finishing a slick passing sequence.
• Second half, 67th minute: The visitors' goalkeeper produces a strong save low to his right to preserve the lead.
• Second half, 84th minute: A Mirandés B shot from distance flashes narrowly wide as the equaliser refuses to come.

Tactical Story

The difference between the two teams was efficiency. Mirandés B played with energy and commitment, but their attacking play lacked the final pass, and too many promising moves broke down on the edge of the penalty area. Leonesa B, by contrast, were patient and economical, rarely wasting possession and taking the one clear opportunity that came their way.

Defensively, the visitors were excellent in the second period. Their back four dropped deeper after taking the lead, protected the space behind and made life difficult for Mirandés B's wide players. The midfield screen in front of them was disciplined, cutting off the passing lanes into the striker's feet and forcing the hosts to go long.

Standout Players

CyD Leonesa Júpiter Leones B's goalscorer was the most decisive player on the pitch, and their goalkeeper was equally important, making a crucial save at 1-0 that kept the momentum from swinging back to the hosts. The centre-back pairing handled the second-half aerial barrage with real composure.

For CD Mirandés B, the central midfielder was their standout performer, driving forward with the ball and refusing to let the tempo drop. Their right-back was also a constant outlet, overlapping repeatedly and delivering into the box.

What It Means for the Table

For CyD Leonesa Júpiter Leones B, this is a valuable away win and a strong statement of intent — three points on the road in the Tercera División are worth their weight in gold, and a clean sheet makes them even sweeter. For CD Mirandés B, the search for consistency continues at home, where dropped points can quickly become costly over the course of a long season.
