CD Llanes were held to a 1-1 draw by Andes CF in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, 18 October 2026, with the home side unable to turn a strong spell of pressure into a winning result at the Estadio San José.

Llanes looked the more dangerous team for long stretches, moving the ball well and creating openings through the wide areas. Andes CF, however, stayed organised, defended with commitment and found an equaliser that rewarded their resilience. The draw leaves both teams with a point and a sense that the match had moments for either side to claim more.

Match overview

The home side began confidently, controlling possession and looking to stretch Andes CF with quick switches of play. Llanes’ midfielders found pockets of space between the lines, and their forwards made repeated runs into the channels. That pressure eventually produced the opening goal, giving Llanes a lead that their early play deserved.

Andes CF responded with a more compact defensive shape and a willingness to counter-attack when the opportunity arose. The visitors grew in confidence as the match progressed and found their equaliser after the break, capitalising on a moment of hesitation in the Llanes defence. In the final stages, Llanes pushed hard for a winner, but Andes CF held on for a valuable away point.

Key moments

• Llanes take the lead: The home side’s pressure told with an opening goal that came from a well-worked attacking move.
• Andes CF stay in the game: The visitors defended resolutely and began to threaten on the counter before the break.
• The equaliser: Andes CF levelled after the interval, taking advantage of a loose ball in the penalty area.
• Late Llanes push: The home side created several half-chances in the closing minutes, but Andes CF’s goalkeeper and defenders stood firm.

Tactical story

CD Llanes’ approach was built around patient possession and overlapping runs from full-back. They looked to create numerical advantages on the flanks and deliver early crosses into the box, a strategy that caused Andes CF problems in the first half. The home side’s biggest issue was converting territorial control into clear chances after their opener.

Andes CF adjusted well, dropping deeper and denying Llanes space behind the defence. Their equaliser came from a more direct attacking sequence, and from that point on they defended with discipline. Llanes dominated the ball in the final 20 minutes, but Andes CF’s compact block and willingness to clear danger kept the score level.

Standout performers

Llanes’ wide midfielder was a constant outlet, beating his marker and delivering dangerous balls into the box. The Andes CF goalkeeper produced a strong performance, making important saves in the second half and commanding his area well. Andes CF’s centre-back pairing also deserves praise for withstanding late pressure and helping the visitors secure a hard-earned draw.

Table impact

The point keeps CD Llanes in the competitive pack in the Tercera División RFEF standings, but the dropped points at home will feel like an opportunity missed. Andes CF, by contrast, will view the draw as a positive result on the road and a sign of their ability to compete against strong opposition.

With the season progressing, both sides will know that turning draws into wins is essential in a division where the table remains tightly bunched. CD Llanes will look to be more clinical in their next outing, while Andes CF will take confidence from another resilient away performance.
