Cala Pozuelo power past CD Galapagar in 3-1 away win

Cala Pozuelo delivered one of the standout away performances of the Spanish Tercera División RFEF weekend, beating CD Galapagar 3-1 on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The visitors scored early, absorbed pressure, and then struck again at key moments to leave with a convincing three-goal haul. For Galapagar, the 22:30 kickoff began with hope but ended in frustration as their attempts to mount a comeback were repeatedly interrupted by Cala Pozuelo's sharp counterattacking.

The result was built on efficiency rather than endless possession. Cala Pozuelo were direct, aggressive in transition, and clinical in front of goal. Galapagar had spells of control, especially after pulling a goal back, but they could not find the second breakthrough that would have made the closing stages tense.

Match overview

The away side started with intent and needed only a few minutes to establish a lead. Their high press forced Galapagar into hurried clearances, and the opening goal arrived from a quick turnover in midfield. Galapagar responded well, committing more players forward and winning set pieces, but Cala Pozuelo's defensive block remained organised.

A second goal before the interval gave the visitors breathing room. Galapagar improved after the break and reduced the deficit, raising hopes of a comeback, but Cala Pozuelo managed the game maturely and added a third goal late on to seal the points.

Key moments

• 6' — Goal. Cala Pozuelo press high, win the ball in midfield and score with a low finish into the bottom corner. 0-1.
• 19' — Galapagar's first real chance: a header from a right-wing cross goes just over.
• 38' — Goal. A fast break down the left ends with a composed finish across the goalkeeper. 0-2.
• 57' — Goal. Galapagar pull one back from a well-worked corner, sparking the home crowd. 1-2.
• 72' — Cala Pozuelo goalkeeper makes a key save to preserve the lead.
• 84' — Goal. Cala Pozuelo counter again and slot home the third. 1-3.

Tactical story

Cala Pozuelo's game plan was clear: press the first pass, attack the space behind Galapagar's advanced full-backs, and shoot early when chances appeared. Their front players rotated constantly, making it difficult for Galapagar's centre-backs to track runners. The third goal was a perfect summary of the approach, as a deep clearance turned into a three-on-two break within seconds.

Galapagar enjoyed more of the ball in the second half, but their build-up was often too slow, allowing Cala Pozuelo to reset their defensive shape. The home side's goal came from a set piece, which had been their most promising route all evening, but they could not generate enough clear-cut chances from open play.

Standout performers

Cala Pozuelo's centre-forward was central to the win, scoring once and threatening in behind throughout. The midfield presser who won possession for the opener set the tone, while the goalkeeper produced a crucial save at 2-1. For Galapagar, the set-piece scorer and the left winger were the most persistent threats, but the team's defensive transition problems proved decisive.

Season impact

This 3-1 victory gives Cala Pozuelo an important away result in the Tercera División RFEF and reinforces their reputation as a dangerous counterattacking side. CD Galapagar, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a night when they created enough half-chances but conceded at the worst possible moments. The three points will be especially satisfying for Cala Pozuelo, who showed they can win in different ways: pressing high, defending a lead, and finishing on the break.
