CD Derio Secure Comfortable 2-0 Win Against SD Beasain

CD Derio claimed a deserved 2-0 victory over SD Beasain in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF, with goals in each half sealing a dominant home performance. Derio controlled the game from start to finish, limiting Beasain to very few opportunities and showing why they are a tough team to beat on their own pitch.

Match Overview

Derio began the match with intent, pressing Beasain high and forcing early mistakes. Their positive start was rewarded in the 15th minute when a quick throw-in caught the Beasain defence off guard, and the ball was squared for a simple finish into the roof of the net. Beasain struggled to keep possession, and Derio continued to create chances throughout the first half.

The second goal arrived in the 60th minute after a sustained period of pressure. A cross from the right was only half-cleared, and Derio’s midfielder pounced on the loose ball, drilling it low into the bottom corner from 18 yards. Beasain never looked like mounting a comeback, and Derio saw out the game with ease.

Key Moments

• 15th minute: Derio take the lead with a well-worked move from a throw-in, finished calmly at the near post.
• 33rd minute: Beasain’s first shot on target is comfortably saved by Derio’s goalkeeper.
• 60th minute: Derio double their lead with a powerful strike from the edge of the box after a cleared cross.

• 90+1 minutes: Beasain win a late corner, but the resulting header is cleared off the line.

Tactical Story

Derio deployed a 4-4-2 system that prioritised defensive solidity and quick transitions. Their midfielders worked tirelessly to close down Beasain’s playmakers, and the back four held a high line that repeatedly caught the visitors offside. Beasain tried to play out from the back but were frustrated by Derio’s aggressive pressing. In attack, Derio’s direct running and willingness to shoot from distance caused problems all game.

Standout Players

Derio’s centre-forward was a constant threat, scoring the first goal and holding up the ball effectively to bring others into play. The central midfielder who scored the second goal was also excellent, breaking up attacks and driving forward with purpose. For Beasain, their goalkeeper kept the score from becoming embarrassing with several smart saves, but the outfield players struggled to make an impact.

What It Means for the Table

This victory moves CD Derio up the Tercera División RFEF standings, reinforcing their reputation as a strong home team. SD Beasain remain in the lower half and will need to find a way to create more chances if they are to avoid a relegation battle. Derio will be pleased with the clean sheet and the clinical nature of their finishing, which bodes well for the rest of the season.
