CD Binissalem 0-3 CF Platges de Calvia: Calvia Cruise to Balearic Derby Win

CF Platges de Calvia delivered a ruthless away performance to beat CD Binissalem 3-0 in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on September 19, 2026. The visitors scored in each phase of the match, combined defensive discipline with sharp counter-attacking, and left with a clean sheet in a fiercely contested island fixture.

Match Summary

Binissalem saw plenty of the ball but struggled to turn possession into clear chances. Platges de Calvia sat in a compact mid-block, invited pressure in harmless areas, and then broke forward with speed. Three well-taken goals, spread across the match, gave the visitors full control and took the game away from the hosts.

The result was a statement of intent from Calvia, who showed they can win away from home against a direct local rival. Binissalem, meanwhile, were left to rue missed opportunities and a series of defensive transitions that proved costly.

Key Moments

• 18th minute: Calvia opened the scoring with a fast break, finished low into the far corner.
• 35th minute: Binissalem's best chance of the first half ended with a header drifting wide from a good cross.
• 54th minute: A high press forced a turnover, and Calvia doubled the lead with a first-time finish inside the box.
• 82nd minute: A substitute sealed the win on the counter, calmly rounding the goalkeeper before scoring into an empty net.

Tactical Breakdown

Binissalem lined up in a 4-3-3 and tried to build through midfield, but Calvia's 4-4-2 structure kept the centre congested. The visitors' wingers dropped deep to protect the full-backs, then sprinted forward in transition. That approach neutralised Binissalem's wide overlaps and created space behind the home defence.

Calvia's back four was organised and aggressive, stepping up to catch Binissalem offside and winning most aerial duels. The goalkeeper was rarely tested despite Binissalem's possession. When the hosts did find pockets between the lines, Calvia's midfielders recovered quickly and forced sideways passes.

Standout Performers

Calvia's No. 10 dictated the counter-attacks and linked midfield with attack. The right winger was involved in the first and third goals, while the centre-back produced a commanding display at the heart of defence. Binissalem's goalkeeper made a few saves to keep the score down, but his defence was exposed too often. The home side's striker worked hard but received limited service.

What It Means

The three points and clean sheet give CF Platges de Calvia momentum in the Tercera División RFEF and strengthen their position in the group. For CD Binissalem, the defeat is a reminder that possession without penetration is not enough. They must improve their final-third decision-making and defensive transitions before the next round of fixtures.
