CD Barquereno 1-3 SD Revilla: SD Revilla delivered one of the more convincing away performances of the Tercera División RFEF matchday, beating CD Barquereno 3-1 thanks to sharp finishing and a well-organised counter-attacking plan.

Match overview

Revilla started brightly and took the game to Barquereno from the opening minutes. Their pressing forced errors in the home side’s build-up, and it was no surprise when they opened the scoring. Barquereno responded well for a period and found an equaliser, but Revilla regained control before half-time and never looked back. A third goal in the second half ended any realistic hope of a comeback and gave the visitors a comfortable margin of victory.

Key moments

• Revilla took an early lead after a turnover in midfield led to a quick attack and a composed finish.
• Barquereno equalised with a determined move down the right, finishing from close range.
• Revilla restored their advantage before the break with a header from a set-piece.
• The visitors sealed the win in the second half, finishing off a fast break to make it 3-1.
• Barquereno pushed forward late on but were caught repeatedly by Revilla’s counter-attacks.

Tactical story

Revilla’s midfield pressed aggressively and denied Barquereno time on the ball, forcing the home side into long passes that were often swallowed up by the visiting defence. When Revilla won possession, they attacked with purpose and used the wide areas to stretch Barquereno’s back line. The home team’s equaliser came during their best spell, but their defensive shape became too open as they chased the game, allowing Revilla to exploit space with increasing ease.

Standout performers

Revilla’s forward line was the difference, with movement and link-up play causing constant problems for Barquereno’s centre-backs. The midfield also deserves praise for the balance between pressing and protecting the defence. Barquereno’s goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, while their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

Table impact

The three points lift SD Revilla in the Tercera División RFEF standings and underline their credentials as a side capable of competing for a high finish. CD Barquereno remain in need of consistency, and this result highlights the importance of tightening up defensively before their next fixture.
