CD Atlético Mansillés 1-0 CD Mirandés B: Rubén Vega Strike Settles Tight Tercera División RFEF Contest

CD Atlético Mansillés claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over CD Mirandés B in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, 27 September 2026. A 72nd-minute goal from Rubén Vega proved enough to separate the sides in a match defined by defensive discipline and fine margins.

The 18:00 kick-off at Campo Municipal de Mansillés was a tense, closely fought affair. With both teams well organised, clear chances were at a premium, and one moment of quality ultimately decided the outcome.

Match Overview

The first half was a cautious battle. Mirandés B enjoyed slightly more possession, moving the ball patiently through midfield, but they struggled to find a way through a compact Atlético Mansillés defence. The hosts sat deep, absorbed pressure and looked to hit on the break.

Mansillés had the best chance of the opening period when a header from a corner flashed just over the bar. At the other end, Mirandés B forced a smart save from the home goalkeeper after a shot from the edge of the box.

The decisive moment arrived in the 72nd minute. Rubén Vega reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the area and drove a low finish into the corner. Mirandés B pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Mansillés defended with determination and held on for a valuable clean sheet.

Key Moments

• 22' – Mirandés B chance: A low drive from distance forced a strong save from the Mansillés goalkeeper.
• 45' – Mansillés header: A corner was met at the near post, but the effort cleared the crossbar.
• 72' – CD Atlético Mansillés 1-0: Rubén Vega pounced on a loose ball and finished low into the corner.
• 88' – Mirandés B pressure: A late scramble ended with a blocked shot as Mansillés held firm.

Tactical Analysis

CD Atlético Mansillés lined up in a disciplined 4-4-2, prioritising defensive shape and quick counterattacks. Their midfield worked hard to close down passing lanes, making it difficult for Mirandés B to create clear openings.

Mirandés B used a 4-2-3-1 system and saw more of the ball, but they lacked sharpness in the final third. Their best moments came from set pieces and long-range efforts, while Mansillés grew in confidence as the game wore on.

Standout Players

Rubén Vega was the match-winner, showing excellent anticipation to score the only goal. His movement in the box and willingness to press defenders made him a constant nuisance.

The Mansillés goalkeeper also deserves credit for a composed performance, making key saves and commanding his area during late Mirandés B pressure. Together, the defensive unit delivered a clean sheet that was built on concentration and teamwork.

Season Impact

The three points lift CD Atlético Mansillés in the Tercera División RFEF standings and give them a valuable boost ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. Winning tight games at home is often the difference between a comfortable season and a relegation battle.

For CD Mirandés B, it is a frustrating afternoon. They controlled long spells of possession but lacked a cutting edge. The reserve side will need to turn territory into goals if they are to climb the table in the coming weeks.
