Castuera 0-0 AD Llerenense — Castuera and AD Llerenense played out a goalless draw in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday evening, with both defences dominating a tense, hard-fought contest.

Match overview

The game was short on clear-cut chances but not on commitment. Castuera enjoyed slightly more territory in the first half, while AD Llerenense grew into the match after the interval and looked the more likely side to find a breakthrough in the final 20 minutes. In the end, a combination of good goalkeeping, last-ditch defending and some wasteful finishing kept the scoreline blank.

Key moments

• 22’: Castuera came closest to opening the scoring when a header from a corner struck the crossbar.
• 45+1’: AD Llerenense appealed for a penalty after a challenge in the box, but the referee waved away the protests.
• 67’: Llerenense forced a smart double save from the Castuera goalkeeper after a quick move down the left.
• 79’: Castuera broke forward on the counter but could not find the final pass with two teammates waiting in the box.
• 90+2’: Llerenense had the ball in the net from a set-piece scramble, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Tactical story

Both sides set up with compact defensive blocks and looked to strike on the counter. Castuera tried to use the width of the pitch to create crossing opportunities, while AD Llerenense focused on winning second balls and sustaining pressure through set pieces. The midfield battle was physical and fragmented, which prevented either team from establishing a rhythm in the final third.

Standout players

The two goalkeepers deserved credit for their concentration and handling in a match where one mistake would have decided the result. Castuera’s central defender was also impressive, winning several important headers and reading danger well. For Llerenense, the midfield anchor kept the game tidy and helped limit Castuera’s space between the lines.

Season impact

A point apiece keeps both teams moving in the Tercera División RFEF, though neither will feel fully satisfied. Castuera remain difficult to beat at home, while AD Llerenense will take encouragement from a solid away clean sheet.
