CA Monzon secured a comfortable 2-0 home win over SD Huesca II in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, 4 October 2026. Two well-taken goals either side of half-time gave the hosts a deserved three points in front of their home support.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, CA Monzon took control of the midfield and pinned SD Huesca II back. The visitors, a development side known for technical football, struggled to cope with Monzon's high press and physical approach. The breakthrough came midway through the first half, and a second goal after the break sealed a professional victory.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute: CA Monzon take the lead. A clever through ball splits the Huesca II defence, and the striker rounds the goalkeeper before rolling into an empty net.
• 41st minute: Huesca II's best chance of the first half, a dipping free-kick, is tipped over the bar.
• 67th minute: Monzon double their advantage. A corner is only half-cleared, and the midfielder fires a low shot through a crowded box.
• 82nd minute: Huesca II push forward and force a smart save from the Monzon goalkeeper.
• 90th minute: Monzon nearly add a third on the counter, but the final shot flashes wide.

Tactical Story

CA Monzon set up in a 4-3-3 with aggressive pressing from the front three. Their midfield trio won the second balls consistently, allowing them to sustain attacks. SD Huesca II tried to play out from the back, but Monzon's intensity forced several turnovers in dangerous areas. The hosts also dominated set-pieces, which led to the second goal. Huesca II improved after half-time with more possession, but they lacked a cutting edge against a well-drilled Monzon back four.

Standout Performers

The Monzon striker was the standout, scoring the opener and leading the line with intelligence. The central midfielder who scored the second goal controlled the tempo throughout. At the back, the Monzon captain marshalled the defence superbly, while the goalkeeper made a key save to preserve the clean sheet. For Huesca II, the young winger showed flashes of quality, but the team's inexperience in the final third was evident.

Season Impact

This 2-0 win moves CA Monzon up the Tercera División RFEF Group 17 table and signals their intent to challenge for a high finish. SD Huesca II remain a work in progress, with the development side continuing to give minutes to young players. The three points boost Monzon's home record and confidence ahead of a tough run of fixtures. Huesca II will need to learn quickly from this defeat as they look to climb away from the lower reaches of the standings.
