CA Bembibre 0-2 CD Atletico Mansilles ended with the visitors taking all three points in a Spanish Tercera División RFEF Group 8 clash on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Played at a lively Bembibre ground, the match was decided by two well-taken goals and a disciplined defensive performance from CD Atletico Mansilles, who left with a clean sheet and a valuable away result.

Match overview

CA Bembibre began the game with plenty of intent, pushing bodies forward and looking to use the width of the pitch. But the home side struggled to turn possession into clear chances. CD Atletico Mansilles sat compactly in a 4-4-2 shape, invited pressure, and then broke with purpose. The visitors scored in the first half and added a second after the break, controlling the tempo once they had the lead.

Key moments

• 27’ – CD Atletico Mansilles open the scoring: Marcos Villar finished a quick counter-attack after Bembibre lost the ball in midfield.
• 45+1’ – Bembibre’s best chance: A header from a corner flashed just wide, summing up a frustrating first half for the hosts.
• 58’ – Disallowed equaliser: Bembibre found the net from a set piece, but the flag went up for offside.
• 72’ – Atletico Mansilles double the lead: Aitor Sanz calmly converted a low cross to make it 2-0.
• 84’ – Late save: Pablo Merino produced a strong stop to preserve the visitors’ clean sheet.

Tactical story

Bembibre’s 4-2-3-1 gave them control of the ball, but their build-up play became predictable. Atletico Mansilles defended the central lanes well and forced the home side into wide deliveries that were comfortably dealt with. When Bembibre’s full-backs advanced, Mansilles looked to spring forward immediately. That plan produced the opening goal and kept the away side ahead even as Bembibre increased their pressure after half-time.

Standout players

Marcos Villar was the game’s most decisive attacking player, combining intelligent movement with a cool finish. Aitor Sanz’s second goal gave Mansilles breathing room, while goalkeeper Pablo Merino was authoritative in the air and alert to low shots. For Bembibre, captain Javier Morán tried to drive the team forward from midfield, but he was often surrounded by opponents.

What it means in the table

The win strengthens CD Atletico Mansilles’ position in the early Spanish Tercera División RFEF standings and gives them confidence on the road. CA Bembibre, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a match in which they had territorial advantage but not enough cutting edge. The result highlights the importance of efficiency in Group 8, where away victories can quickly change the mood of a season.
