Arandina claimed a controlled 1-0 win over CD Calasanz de Soria in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF, using patience and a well-worked second-half goal to take all three points. The match was decided by a single moment of quality, but Arandina’s overall authority made the result feel deserved.

Match Overview

Played on 26 September 2026 with a 23:00 kick-off, the contest began with Arandina dictating possession and CD Calasanz de Soria setting up in a deep, organised shape. The visitors looked content to absorb pressure and threaten on the break, while Arandina moved the ball from side to side in search of an opening.

The first half was largely a story of Arandina territory without a decisive final ball. Calasanz defended their box well, blocking shots and clearing crosses, but the warning signs were there as Arandina grew more confident in the final third.

How the Goal Arrived

The breakthrough came in the 54th minute. After a patient passing sequence, Arandina worked the ball into the penalty area and Javier Arroyo found just enough space to steer a low finish into the net. It was a goal that rewarded Arandina’s persistence and forced Calasanz to come out of their defensive shell.

Calasanz Response

Trailing 1-0, CD Calasanz de Soria pushed more players forward and finally began to ask questions of the Arandina defence. They won a couple of corners and delivered dangerous crosses into the box, but Arandina’s centre-backs remained calm. The best chance for an equaliser came from a long-range effort that dipped just over the crossbar.

Arandina responded by slowing the tempo and keeping the ball in the opposition half. Their game management in the final 20 minutes was impressive, denying Calasanz the rhythm they needed to mount a sustained comeback.

Tactical Breakdown

Arandina’s 4-2-3-1 shape allowed them to dominate the midfield zone, with the full-backs pushing high to create overloads on the flanks. Calasanz tried to defend with a narrow midfield line, which worked for a while but left them vulnerable to switches of play. The winning goal came precisely from that pattern: Arandina moved the ball quickly across the pitch, stretched the block, and attacked the space that opened up.

Without the ball, Arandina pressed intelligently, forcing Calasanz into long clearances rather than composed build-up. That helped the home side win the ball back quickly and maintain pressure throughout the second half.

Standout Performers

Javier Arroyo was the match-winner, taking his goal with composure and linking play well throughout. Arandina’s goalkeeper also played a key role with a sharp save late on, while the defensive unit protected the lead with discipline. For CD Calasanz de Soria, the goalkeeper kept the score respectable with several saves, and their captain in midfield never stopped organising the players around him.

Tercera División RFEF Table Impact

The three points lift Arandina in the Tercera División RFEF standings and reinforce their ambition to stay in the upper part of the table. For CD Calasanz de Soria, it is a narrow loss that leaves them searching for more attacking output, especially in matches where they defend well for long periods. Arandina will take confidence from the clean sheet and the control they showed after scoring, while Calasanz must turn their defensive resilience into points.
