Antela FC and Lalin shared the spoils in a hard-fought 2-2 draw in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 26 October 2026. The Galician clash delivered four goals, momentum swings and a tense finish, with both sides having moments when they looked capable of taking all three points.

Match overview

Antela started with purpose and took the lead through a well-constructed attacking move. Lalin responded well, equalising before half-time and then edging ahead early in the second period. Antela refused to let the game slip and found an equaliser of their own, setting up an open final phase in which both teams pushed for a winner.

The draw leaves both sides with a point to show for an energetic performance. Antela will be pleased with their fighting spirit and attacking intent, while Lalin will point to their spells of control and the quality of their transitions. In a competitive Tercera División RFEF fixture, the result was a fair reflection of the balance between the two teams.

Key moments

Antela’s opener came after sustained possession, with the ball worked into the box and finished calmly. Lalin grew into the game and levelled before the break after winning the ball in midfield and attacking quickly. Early in the second half, Lalin turned the game around with a goal that rewarded their improved intensity.

Antela responded by raising their tempo and pushing more bodies forward. The equaliser arrived after a period of pressure, with a well-timed run and a composed finish. Both sides had late set-pieces and half-chances, but neither goalkeeper was seriously beaten again. The final whistle brought an end to an absorbing contest.

Tactical story

Antela favoured patient build-up and looked to create overloads in wide areas. Their midfield worked hard to recycle possession, and the front players were willing to drop deep and link play. That approach produced good spells of control, but it also left space for Lalin to exploit on the counter-attack.

Lalin were at their best when pressing and transitioning quickly. They pressed Antela’s midfielders, forced turnovers and attacked the space behind the defence. However, they struggled to maintain that intensity for the full 90 minutes, and Antela’s persistence eventually told. The tactical battle was evenly matched, with neither side able to impose complete dominance.

Standout performers

Antela’s attacking midfielder was central to their best moves, linking play and creating chances in the final third. The centre-forward’s movement stretched Lalin’s defence, while the goalkeeper made important saves during Lalin’s strongest spell. Antela’s captain also led by example in midfield, driving the team forward during the comeback.

Lalin’s wide players caused problems with their pace and direct running, and their central striker was a constant physical presence. The midfield press worked well in phases, forcing errors and creating counter-attacking opportunities. Defensively, however, Lalin will be disappointed with the way they allowed Antela back into the game after taking the lead.

Season impact

In the tightly contested Tercera División RFEF, every point matters, and both Antela FC and Lalin will see this as a mixed result. Antela showed character and attacking quality, while Lalin demonstrated their ability to impose themselves on the road. The draw keeps both teams focused on the next fixture, with defensive consistency and game management likely to be key themes in the weeks ahead.
