Andorra CF secured a narrow 1-0 victory over CD Cuarte Industrial in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF, with a first-half goal proving enough to claim all three points at the Estadi Nacional d'Andorra. The home side controlled large periods of the match but had to withstand late pressure to preserve their clean sheet.

Match Overview

Andorra CF started brightly, pressing high and forcing Cuarte Industrial into early mistakes. The breakthrough came in the 38th minute when a well-timed run into the box was picked out by a precise cross, and the finish was clinical. Cuarte responded before half-time with a couple of half-chances, but the Andorra goalkeeper was untroubled. The second half was more balanced, with Cuarte pushing more bodies forward in search of an equaliser. However, Andorra’s defence held firm, with the centre-backs dealing comfortably with crosses and through balls. The home side could have added a second on the counter, but their finishing let them down. In the end, the single goal was enough.

Key Moments

• 15’ – Chance: Andorra CF’s winger cuts inside and forces a save from the Cuarte goalkeeper.
• 38’ – Goal: A pinpoint cross is converted from close range to give Andorra the lead.
• 67’ – Chance: Cuarte’s striker heads over from a good position.
• 89’ – Block: Andorra’s defender throws himself in front of a goal-bound shot to preserve the win.

Tactical Story

Andorra CF lined up in a 4-3-3, with their full-backs encouraged to overlap and provide width. The midfield trio controlled the tempo, switching play from side to side to stretch Cuarte’s 4-4-2. The goal came from exactly that pattern: a switch of play, a quick overlap, and a cross into the box. After taking the lead, Andorra dropped their defensive line slightly, inviting pressure but remaining dangerous on the counter. Cuarte’s manager made three attacking substitutions in the second half, but they struggled to create clear-cut chances against a well-organised defence.

Standout Players

Andorra CF’s goalscorer was the standout, showing excellent movement and finishing. The goalkeeper was rarely tested but commanded his area well, while the defensive midfielder broke up play effectively. For Cuarte Industrial, the goalkeeper made several good saves to keep the score down, and the central defender was strong in the air despite the defeat.

Season Impact

This victory keeps Andorra CF in the upper reaches of the Tercera División RFEF table, maintaining their push for a promotion play-off spot. CD Cuarte Industrial remains in mid-table, with work to do to close the gap on the top six. The head-to-head record now favours Andorra CF, who have won two of the last three encounters. Next up, Andorra CF travels to face CF Badalona, while Cuarte Industrial hosts UE Olot in a crucial match for their season aspirations.
