UDC Txantrea KKE claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory away at AD San Juan in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF. A single second-half goal was enough to separate the sides in a tense, closely contested encounter.

Match Overview

AD San Juan started brightly, pressing high and forcing a couple of early corners. However, Txantrea grew into the game and began to control possession in midfield. The first half ended goalless, with both defences on top. The decisive moment came midway through the second half when Txantrea capitalised on a rare defensive lapse. San Juan pushed for an equaliser but lacked the cutting edge to break down a resilient visiting defence.

Key Moments

• 18’ – San Juan chance: A header from a corner drifted just wide of the far post.
• 52’ – Txantrea goal: A quick exchange of passes on the edge of the box opened up space, and a low shot found the bottom corner to make it 1-0.
• 74’ – San Juan pressure: The hosts forced a series of corners, but Txantrea’s goalkeeper claimed the ball confidently each time.
• 90+3’ – Last chance: San Juan’s final effort from distance flew over the bar as the referee blew the final whistle.

Tactical Story

AD San Juan lined up in a 4-4-2, looking to use width and early crosses. Txantrea deployed a 4-2-3-1, with a focus on controlling the centre of the pitch. The visitors’ midfield duo shielded the back four effectively, limiting San Juan to shots from distance. Going forward, Txantrea’s attacking midfielder found pockets of space between the lines, and it was his clever movement that created the winning goal. San Juan’s manager made attacking substitutions, but Txantrea’s defensive organisation remained intact.

Standout Players

The Txantrea goalscorer was the difference-maker, showing composure in a crowded penalty area. Their holding midfielder was instrumental in breaking up play and starting counter-attacks. For AD San Juan, the left-back was a constant threat going forward, while the centre-back pair dealt well with most of what came their way. The San Juan goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the score down.

Table and Season Impact

This victory gives UDC Txantrea KKE a valuable three points on the road, boosting their position in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF. AD San Juan remain in search of consistency and will be frustrated to come away empty-handed from a game they competed well in. The result highlights the fine margins in this division, where a single goal often decides the outcome. Both teams now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures.
