Tactical Story

UD Poblense’s 4-2-3-1 shape allowed them to control midfield transitions, with the double pivot shielding the back four effectively. They focused their attacks down the flanks, delivering early crosses and testing Castellon B’s young full-backs. Castellon B, a reserve side with plenty of energy, tried to play out from the back, but they were often hurried into long balls. Their equaliser came from their best passage of play, yet they struggled to sustain pressure after that.

Standout Players

Poblense’s attacking midfielder was the architect of most good things, linking play and creating chances. The centre-back who scored the winner also produced a commanding defensive display. Castellon B’s goalkeeper made several sharp saves to keep his side in the contest, while their central midfielder drove forward effectively during the second half. In the end, Poblense’s experience and set-piece quality proved the difference.

What It Means for the Table

The win pushes UD Poblense up the Segunda Federación standings and gives them confidence ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. Castellon B remain a work in progress, but their second-half response showed promise. Both sides will take lessons from a match that highlighted the fine margins in Spain’s fourth tier.
