UB Conquense and CD Atlético Paso produced an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Spanish Segunda División RFEF on 18 October 2026, with the points shared after a match full of momentum shifts at Estadio La Fuensanta.

Four goals and plenty of drama

The 18:00 kick-off promised a test between two sides with ambitions of climbing the table, and it delivered almost immediately. UB Conquense started brightly, using the width of the pitch to stretch Atlético Paso’s defence and create early crossing opportunities. The home side’s pressure paid off when they opened the scoring with a well-placed finish after a neat exchange on the edge of the box.

Match overview

Conquense doubled their advantage before half-time, capitalising on a loose ball in midfield and moving it quickly into the final third. The finish was clinical, and at 2-0 the home side looked in control. But Atlético Paso had other ideas. The visitors pulled one back shortly before the interval with a smart near-post strike, giving them a foothold in the game and changing the mood inside the stadium.

The second half was a different story. Atlético Paso pressed higher and forced Conquense deeper, and their persistence was rewarded with a late equaliser. A driven cross from the right was met with a firm header, sending the away bench into celebration and setting up a tense final few minutes. Conquense pushed for a winner, but Paso defended resolutely to hold on for a point.

Key moments

• 14 minutes: UB Conquense take the lead with a low finish after a flowing move down the left.
• 39 minutes: Conquense double the advantage with a composed finish from inside the penalty area.
• 44 minutes: CD Atlético Paso pull one back with a sharp near-post effort.
• 71 minutes: Conquense goalkeeper makes a crucial save to deny Paso an equaliser.
• 86 minutes: Atlético Paso level the score with a powerful header from a right-wing cross.

Tactical story

Conquense’s first-half plan worked well: they controlled possession, used their full-backs to create overloads, and looked dangerous whenever they played through the middle. The decision to sit slightly deeper after taking a two-goal lead, however, invited pressure. Atlético Paso adjusted by pushing their wingers higher and committing more bodies into the box. That tactical shift turned the game, and the visitors’ direct approach eventually brought them back into contention.

Standout performers

Conquense’s attacking midfielder was at the heart of their best moments, linking play and creating chances with intelligent movement. For Atlético Paso, the right-sided forward caused problems all afternoon and delivered the cross that produced the equaliser. Both centre-backs had busy games, and the Paso goalkeeper made a string of important saves to keep his side within reach.

What the point means

The draw leaves both teams with mixed emotions. Conquense will be frustrated to have let a two-goal lead slip, while Atlético Paso will take real encouragement from their second-half fightback. In the Segunda División RFEF, where every point matters in the race for promotion and playoff places, this could prove to be a valuable away point for Paso and a lesson in game management for Conquense.
