Sevilla Atletico secured a controlled 2-0 victory over Tenerife B in the Spanish Segunda División RFEF on Sunday, 25 October 2026, with Pablo Ortiz scoring in each half to decide a match that the hosts largely dominated. Sevilla Atletico’s patience in possession and discipline out of possession proved too much for a young Tenerife B side.

Match overview

The hosts set the tone early, circulating the ball confidently and pinning Tenerife B back in their own half. Sevilla Atletico’s breakthrough arrived in the 18th minute when Ortiz found space between the centre-backs and finished neatly from a low cross. Tenerife B tried to respond through quick breaks, but Sevilla Atletico’s midfield screened the defence effectively and limited clear chances.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Sevilla Atletico controlled possession without taking unnecessary risks, and Ortiz doubled the lead in the 72nd minute with a composed finish after a well-worked move down the right. Tenerife B pushed late in search of a route back into the game, but the hosts managed the closing stages comfortably.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Pablo Ortiz opens the scoring with a first-time finish from a low cross.
• 36th minute: Tenerife B’s best chance of the first half is blocked inside the area.
• 58th minute: Sevilla Atletico go close again from a set piece, but the header is saved.
• 72nd minute: Ortiz scores his second with a calm finish after a flowing move.
• 84th minute: Tenerife B force a late corner, but Sevilla Atletico defend it well.

Tactical story

Sevilla Atletico’s 4-2-3-1 shape gave them control in central areas, with the double pivot protecting the back four and allowing the attacking midfielders to rotate freely. Their full-backs provided width, and the front line’s movement created gaps that Tenerife B struggled to close. The hosts were patient rather than reckless, waiting for the right moments to accelerate.

Tenerife B, a reserve side built around younger players, showed energy and intent but lacked the final touch in the attacking third. Their best moments came from transitions, yet Sevilla Atletico’s compact defensive block consistently forced them wide. The home side’s game management in the second half was particularly impressive, as they slowed the tempo when needed and protected their lead.

Standout performers

Ortiz was the match-winner, showing excellent positioning and composure in front of goal. Sevilla Atletico’s midfield pair controlled the rhythm of the game, while the centre-backs dealt comfortably with Tenerife B’s late crosses. For the visitors, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the scoreline respectable, but the team’s attacking players found little space to work with.

What the result means

The three points give Sevilla Atletico a valuable home win in a competitive Segunda División RFEF group, reinforcing their ability to dictate matches against developing opposition. Tenerife B will take lessons from the defeat, particularly in how to cope with sustained pressure and how to turn possession into clearer chances. For Sevilla Atletico, the clean sheet was as satisfying as the goals, underlining the balance between attacking control and defensive solidity.
