SD Amorebieta 0-1 Ourense CF was decided by a single moment of quality, as the visitors from Galicia secured a hard-fought away win in the Segunda División RFEF. On a night when clear chances were at a premium, Ourense CF's discipline and organisation proved enough to see off an Amorebieta side that struggled to find a breakthrough.

Match overview

Amorebieta came into the contest looking to use home advantage to dictate the rhythm, but they found themselves facing a compact, well-drilled opponent. Ourense CF defended with intelligence, kept their shape, and gradually grew into the game, waiting for the error or the half-chance that would decide it.

That chance arrived, and the visitors took it. From there, the match became a test of Amorebieta's patience and creativity — a test they were ultimately unable to pass.

Key moments

• The only goal — Ourense CF found the decisive breakthrough with a composed finish that beat the home goalkeeper.
• Amorebieta press — the hosts responded with their best spell of the match, pushing full-backs forward and flooding the box with crosses.
• Denied — a combination of last-ditch defending and sharp goalkeeping kept Amorebieta off the scoresheet.
• Game management — Ourense slowed the tempo in the closing stages, taking the sting out of the game and protecting their narrow lead.

Tactical story

This was a classic case of a team set up to frustrate and then capitalise. Ourense CF's midfield screening was excellent, cutting off the passing lanes into Amorebieta's forwards and forcing the home side to play sideways rather than through. With little space to operate in central areas, Amorebieta increasingly resorted to long balls and wide deliveries, which the Ourense centre-backs dealt with comfortably.

Amorebieta's brightest moments came when they moved the ball quickly and switched play, but those spells were too brief. The tempo dropped too often, and Ourense were happy to let the clock run.

Standout performers

The Ourense goalkeeper deserves enormous credit for a clean sheet that was built on concentration as much as shot-stopping. In front of him, the central defensive pairing was commanding in the air and composed on the ball. For Amorebieta, the midfielders who kept driving forward in the second half were the standout contributors, even if the end product never arrived.

Season impact

For a side with promotion ambitions in the Segunda División RFEF, home defeats of this kind can be costly. Amorebieta will reflect on a night of missed opportunities and will be desperate to respond quickly. Ourense CF, meanwhile, will take real satisfaction from a disciplined away performance — the type of result that builds momentum over a long, grinding season.

Final score: SD Amorebieta 0-1 Ourense CF.
