CE Manresa 0-0 CA Osasuna Promesas — Spanish Segunda División RFEF, 11 October 2026

CE Manresa and CA Osasuna Promesas played out a goalless draw in the Segunda División RFEF, a result that will satisfy the visiting side more than the hosts. In a match of contrasting styles, Manresa dominated territory and possession, while Osasuna Promesas defended with discipline and looked dangerous whenever they broke forward.

Match overview

Manresa set up to control the game and largely succeeded. Their midfield circulated the ball well, worked the flanks patiently, and generated a steady supply of crosses into the box. The problem was a familiar one at this level: plenty of possession, very little end product. Osasuna Promesas, well organised and physically strong, were content to defend their penalty area and strike on the counter.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Manresa pushing more players forward in search of a winner and Osasuna Promesas dropping deeper. Despite the pressure, the home side could not find the breakthrough, and a disciplined defensive performance earned the visitors a valuable away point.

Key moments

• First-half header: Manresa's best chance of the opening period came from a corner, with a header directed just over the crossbar.
• Counter-attack scare: Osasuna Promesas broke quickly midway through the second half, forcing a smart save from the Manresa goalkeeper at the near post.
• Shot cleared off the line: Late on, a goal-bound effort from the edge of the area was blocked on the line by a covering defender.
• Final push: Manresa threw bodies forward in stoppage time but could not manufacture a clear sight of goal.

Tactical story

This was a classic battle between possession and organisation. Manresa wanted to play through the thirds, using overloads on the wings to generate crossing opportunities. Osasuna Promesas responded with a deep, narrow defensive block that protected the central corridor and forced Manresa into wide areas where the deliveries could be dealt with aerially.

The visitors were also intelligent in how they managed the tempo, slowing the game down whenever possible and using substitutions to break Manresa's rhythm. Their counter-attacks carried genuine threat, and on another day one of those breaks might have produced the winning goal.

Standout performers

Manresa's goalkeeper was alert when called upon and dealt confidently with crosses and set pieces, while their central midfielders kept the ball moving throughout. The centre-backs defended resolutely against the counter-attack.

For Osasuna Promesas, the two centre-backs were the outstanding performers, winning almost every aerial duel and blocking shots with commitment. Their goalkeeper commanded his area well and distributed quickly to launch counters.

Season impact

A point apiece keeps both sides moving forward in a division where consistency is everything. For Osasuna Promesas, an away clean sheet against a strong home side is a solid foundation for the weeks ahead, while Manresa will feel they dropped two points and will look to sharpen their finishing before their next fixture.

The Segunda División RFEF is unforgiving to teams that cannot convert dominance into goals, and Manresa's coaching staff will know exactly where the work lies.
