CD Tudelano 1-3 Reus FC Reddis — Reus FC Reddis produced one of their most complete away performances of the Segunda División RFEF campaign, scoring three times at the Estadio Ciudad de Tudela to leave with all three points and hand the hosts a damaging home defeat.

Match overview

The visitors set the tone inside the opening twenty minutes, pressing high and forcing Tudelano into hurried clearances. That pressure told when Reus opened the scoring with a well-worked move down the right, finished calmly at the near post. Tudelano briefly steadied themselves, but a second goal before the interval effectively decided the direction of the contest.

The second half was more even in terms of territory, and Tudelano deserved credit for continuing to push forward rather than folding. They pulled one back with a header from a corner that briefly raised hopes of a comeback, but Reus managed the closing stages professionally and added a third on the break to settle matters.

Key moments

• 18' — Reus lead: A slick combination on the right ends with a low finish inside the near post.
• 39' — The second goal: A loose ball in midfield is pounced on, and a first-time strike from the edge of the box doubles the advantage.
• 63' — Tudelano halve the deficit: A deep corner is met with a powerful header that beats the goalkeeper at his near post.
• 81' — Game over: Reus break three-on-two and finish clinically after Tudelano commit bodies forward in search of an equaliser.
• 90+3' — Late frustration: A Tudelano effort is cleared off the line as the final whistle approaches.

Tactical story

Reus lined up with a compact midfield four designed to cut off the central lanes and force Tudelano into wide areas, where their full-backs could double up. It worked almost perfectly for an hour: the hosts had plenty of the ball in harmless zones but struggled to generate clear chances, while Reus looked dangerous every time they won possession back and attacked quickly.

Tudelano's response was to introduce an extra attacker and switch to a back three, a gamble that produced their goal but also opened space behind. That space was exactly where the third goal came from, a reminder of the fine margins involved when a mid-table side chases a game against well-drilled opposition.

Standout players

Reus's front line was sharp and unselfish all afternoon, with the two wide forwards combining repeatedly and the central striker holding the ball up effectively to bring others into play. The midfield anchor was arguably the most influential figure, repeatedly breaking up Tudelano's rhythm and launching counters with simple, accurate passes.

For Tudelano, the goalscorer from the corner was their brightest spark, and the substitute introduced at half-time added genuine urgency. Their goalkeeper, however, will be disappointed with the second goal, a strike that beat him from distance when he had a clear sight of the ball.

What it means in the Segunda División RFEF

Three points on the road are worth their weight in this division, and Reus FC Reddis will take genuine encouragement from a performance that combined organisation with cutting edge. Results like this are what separate sides competing for promotion playoff places from those destined for a comfortable mid-table finish.

For CD Tudelano, the defeat is a reminder of how unforgiving the group is. Home form is the foundation of any survival or top-half campaign at this level, and dropping points on their own pitch will hurt more than the scoreline alone suggests.
