CD Guadalajara delivered a statement performance on October 12, 2026, defeating Getafe B 4-1 in the Spanish Segunda División RFEF at the Estadio Pedro Escartín. The emphatic win sends a clear message to the rest of the division and boosts Guadalajara's promotion aspirations.

Match Overview

Guadalajara were in scintillating form from the first whistle, taking the game to Getafe B with relentless attacking intent. The home side pressed high, moved the ball quickly, and carved open the visitors' defence with ease. Getafe B, the reserve team of the La Liga club, struggled to cope with Guadalajara's intensity and found themselves chasing shadows for much of the match. By halftime, the scoreline already reflected Guadalajara's dominance. The second half was more of the same, with the hosts adding to their lead and managing the game professionally. A late consolation goal for Getafe B did little to dampen the celebratory mood in Guadalajara.

Key Moments

• 12th minute – 1-0 Guadalajara: Rubén Torres opened the scoring with a powerful header from a corner.
• 31st minute – 2-0 Guadalajara: David Ortega doubled the lead with a curling shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
• 54th minute – 3-0 Guadalajara: Ortega turned provider, setting up Javier López for a simple tap-in.
• 72nd minute – 3-1 Getafe B: The visitors pulled one back through Adrián Martín, who finished off a rare counter-attack.
• 85th minute – 4-1 Guadalajara: Marcos Ruiz completed the scoring with a low drive after a mazy run.

Tactical Story

Guadalajara lined up in a 4-3-3 with an emphasis on attacking width and quick combinations. Their full-backs pushed very high, pinning Getafe B's wingers back and allowing the midfield to dominate possession. The front three of Ortega, López, and Torres were fluid, constantly swapping positions and dragging defenders out of shape. Getafe B tried to press but were often bypassed by Guadalajara's crisp passing. Defensively, Guadalajara were solid, apart from a momentary lapse that led to Getafe B's goal. The home side's ability to win the ball back quickly in midfield was the foundation for their attacking success, and they never allowed the visitors to settle into any rhythm.

Standout Players

David Ortega was the architect of Guadalajara's victory, scoring one and assisting another with a performance full of creativity and energy. His movement and vision were too much for Getafe B to handle. Rubén Torres was a constant threat in the air and on the ground, capping his display with the opening goal. In midfield, Marcos Ruiz ran the show, breaking up play and driving forward. For Getafe B, Adrián Martín took his goal well and was one of the few players to offer any resistance, but it was a difficult night for the young visitors.

Season Impact

The three points move Guadalajara into the upper echelons of the Segunda División RFEF table, signalling their intent to challenge for promotion. A 4-1 win of this nature builds confidence and sends a warning to their rivals. For Getafe B, the defeat highlights the challenges of competing against experienced, well-drilled sides. They remain a work in progress, but the result will serve as a learning experience for their young squad. Guadalajara will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, while Getafe B must regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the table.
