Atletico Sanluqueno produced one of the most convincing home performances of the Spanish Segunda División RFEF weekend, defeating Las Palmas Atletico 4-1 on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The hosts combined aggressive pressing with ruthless finishing, turning a competitive opening period into a clear and deserved victory at El Palmar.

Match overview

The 19:00 kick-off began with both sides looking to impose themselves, but Sanluqueno settled first. Their early pressure forced Las Palmas Atletico into hurried clearances, and the home side capitalised with the opening goal inside the first quarter of an hour. From that point, the match developed into a test of whether the visitors could withstand sustained pressure and whether Sanluqueno could convert their control into a cushion.

They did exactly that before half-time, doubling the lead and forcing Las Palmas Atletico to chase the game. The second half brought more space, and Sanluqueno used it well, adding two further goals after the hour mark. A late consolation goal gave the visitors something to show for their efforts, but the final score of Atletico Sanluqueno 4-1 Las Palmas Atletico reflected the home side’s superiority across the 90 minutes.

Key moments

• 14th minute: Sanluqueno opened the scoring after a high turnover, finishing calmly from the edge of the area.
• 38th minute: A well-delivered corner was met with a powerful header to make it 2-0 before the break.
• 57th minute: The hosts broke quickly down the right and added a third with a low finish at the far post.
• 72nd minute: A substitute forward rounded off a flowing move to stretch the lead to four.
• 84th minute: Las Palmas Atletico grabbed a consolation goal with a neat finish after their best spell of the second half.

Tactical story

Sanluqueno’s approach was built on intensity without the ball. They pressed Las Palmas Atletico’s defenders and midfielders high up the pitch, forcing mistakes and winning possession in dangerous areas. When they had the ball, the home side attacked with width, stretching the visitors’ back line and creating room between the full-backs and centre-backs. Their set-piece delivery was also a constant threat, and the second goal underlined that advantage.

Las Palmas Atletico had moments of neat possession, particularly after half-time, but they struggled to turn that possession into clear chances. Their consolation goal came when Sanluqueno had already established a commanding lead, and by then the game was effectively decided. The visitors’ midfield was often overrun in transition, which allowed Sanluqueno to counter-attack with purpose.

Standout performers

Sanluqueno’s central midfield dictated the tempo, winning second balls and linking defence with attack. The forward line was equally impressive, with the home side’s attacking players rotating positions and causing confusion among the Las Palmas Atletico defenders. The player who scored the third goal was particularly influential, combining movement with precise finishing.

For Las Palmas Atletico, the goalkeeper prevented an even heavier defeat with several saves, while their late goal was a reminder of the quality they can produce in short bursts. However, the visitors lacked the consistency needed to stay with a side as sharp as Sanluqueno on home soil.

What the result means

The three points give Atletico Sanluqueno a timely boost and reinforce their home form in the Segunda División RFEF. A 4-1 win also improves goal difference and sends a clear message to the rest of the division. For Las Palmas Atletico, the result is a reminder of the work still needed defensively, especially when facing teams that press aggressively and attack with speed.
