Zamora CF 2-0 CD Coria: Clinical Zamora Secure Primera Division RFEF Victory

Zamora CF claimed a composed 2-0 win over CD Coria in the Spanish Primera División RFEF on Sunday, October 4, 2026. At the Estadio Ruta de la Plata, goals in each half and a disciplined defensive display gave Zamora all three points in a match they controlled from start to finish. The result keeps Zamora CF in the hunt for the promotion playoff spots, while CD Coria are left to reflect on a difficult away night.

Match Overview

Zamora CF entered the contest with a clear plan: dominate possession, force CD Coria deep, and use the wide areas to create chances. The home side took the lead in the 18th minute and never truly relinquished control. CD Coria worked hard to stay in the game, but they struggled to create clear openings against a well-organised Zamora back line.

The second goal arrived shortly after the hour mark, effectively ending the contest. Zamora managed the closing stages professionally, and the clean sheet was just reward for a performance built on patience and tactical discipline.

Key Moments

• 18' – Zamora CF 1-0: A patient move ended with a low cross from the left, and Zamora's striker turned it in from close range.
• 41' – CD Coria's best chance: Coria's winger broke into the box but was denied by a strong save from the Zamora goalkeeper.
• 63' – Zamora CF 2-0: A quick turnover in midfield allowed Zamora to attack at speed, and a precise finish doubled the lead.
• 72' – Goal disallowed: CD Coria thought they had pulled one back, but the flag went up for offside.
• 86' – Late control: Zamora kept the ball in the corners and limited Coria to hopeful crosses.

Tactical Story

Zamora CF set up in a 4-4-2 that became a 4-2-3-1 when they had the ball. Their midfield pair controlled the centre of the pitch, cutting off passing lanes and forcing CD Coria to go long. That pressure allowed Zamora to recycle possession quickly and launch repeated attacks down the flanks.

CD Coria's 4-2-3-1 had moments of promise, especially when their No. 10 dropped between the lines, but they lacked the final pass. Zamora's defenders defended the box well, winning aerial duels and blocking shots. Once the second goal went in, the visitors' confidence dropped, and Zamora saw out the game with maturity.

Standout Players

Zamora CF: The central midfield duo dictated the rhythm, while the centre-forward led the line with intelligence and scored the opening goal. The goalkeeper made an important save at 1-0 and recorded a well-earned clean sheet.

CD Coria: The goalkeeper prevented a heavier defeat with several saves, and the left winger was Coria's most dangerous outlet on the counter. The centre-back also produced a number of timely interventions.

Season Impact and Primera Division RFEF Context

The win strengthens Zamora CF's position in the Primera División RFEF table and keeps them within reach of the playoff places. In a division where consistency is often rewarded more than flair, this was exactly the kind of professional result that can define a season.

For CD Coria, the defeat leaves them needing points from their upcoming home fixtures. They remain a competitive side on their day, but they will need to find more creativity in the final third to climb the standings. Zamora CF, meanwhile, move forward with confidence and another clean sheet to their name.
