Extremadura UD Power Past CD Coria 4-2 in Primera División RFEF Thriller

Extremadura UD produced a clinical away performance to beat CD Coria 4-2 in Spain’s Primera División RFEF on October 11, 2026. The match at Estadio La Isla was an open, end-to-end contest, but Extremadura’s finishing in the final third proved the difference.

CD Coria twice threatened to turn the game into a contest, but each time Extremadura UD had an answer. The visitors scored early, absorbed pressure, and then pulled away late to secure a result that boosts their standing in the league table.

Match Overview

Extremadura started brightly and took the lead in the 12th minute when Sergio Domínguez finished off a quick counter-attack. CD Coria responded well, equalizing in the 28th minute through Iván Martínez, whose shot from the edge of the box took a slight deflection on its way in.

Just before half-time, Extremadura restored their advantage. Adrián Fuentes scored in first-half stoppage time after a corner was only partially cleared. Tactical Story

CD Coria tried to play through midfield with short passes and rotations, but Extremadura UD’s high press forced turnovers in dangerous areas. Extremadura were happy to concede possession at times, using the speed of their wide players to attack the space behind Coria’s full-backs.

The game was decided by transitions. Three of Extremadura’s four goals came from moves that began with a Coria attack breaking down. Coria’s defenders were often left exposed, and their goalkeeper was called into action repeatedly. Despite the defeat, Coria showed attacking quality and will feel they can take points from similar performances if they tighten up at the back.

Standout Players

Sergio Domínguez was the clear man of the match, scoring twice and constantly threatening with his movement. Adrián Fuentes and Mario Tomé also made decisive contributions. For CD Coria, Iván Martínez and Rubén Sánchez were the main bright spots, both taking their goals well and driving the team forward.

Primera División RFEF Table Impact

The win strengthens Extremadura UD’s position in the Primera División RFEF standings and gives them momentum in a competitive group. CD Coria remain in search of consistency, though their two-goal display shows they are capable of troubling better-placed opponents. With many matches still to play, the race for playoff places and survival remains wide open.

Extremadura UD will look to build on this result in their next fixture, while CD Coria must regroup quickly. The 4-2 scoreline was entertaining for neutral fans, but for Coria it will serve as a reminder of how costly turnovers can be at this level.
