Arenas Club de Getxo secured a 2-0 home victory over UD Ourense in the Spanish Primera División RFEF on 24 October 2026, combining disciplined defending with two well-timed goals at the Estadio Municipal de Gobela.

Match overview

Arenas took control of the game early and opened the scoring in the first half after a period of sustained pressure. Their movement in wide areas caused problems for Ourense, and the breakthrough came from a well-executed attacking sequence. Ourense tried to respond, but Arenas’ midfield pressed effectively and limited the visitors’ time on the ball.

The second goal arrived later in the match, effectively ending Ourense’s hopes of a comeback. Arenas managed the closing stages intelligently, keeping possession and preventing their opponents from building any real momentum. The clean sheet rounded off a professional home performance.

Key moments

• First half — Arenas Club de Getxo take the lead after a sustained spell of attacking pressure.
• Midway through the second half — Ourense push forward in search of an equaliser but are caught on the counter.
• Second half — Arenas double their advantage with a composed finish inside the penalty area.
• Final stages — Arenas control possession and secure the clean sheet.

Tactical story

Arenas were organised and aggressive without the ball, pressing Ourense into mistakes and forcing them to play long passes that were comfortably defended. When they won possession, the home side moved the ball quickly into wide areas, stretching the opposition back line and creating space for runners from midfield.

The second goal was a perfect example of that approach. Ourense committed players forward, Arenas won the ball back and broke quickly, finishing the move with precision. From there, the home side’s game management was excellent, slowing the tempo and denying Ourense any chance to build sustained pressure.

Table impact

The three points strengthen Arenas Club de Getxo’s position in the Primera División RFEF standings and provide a solid platform for their next fixtures. UD Ourense will be disappointed with the manner of the defeat, particularly after conceding the second goal on the counter, but they will look to respond quickly in their next outing. For Arenas, the combination of goals and a clean sheet makes this a thoroughly satisfying result.
