Granada CF edged a five-goal thriller against Real Sociedad B, winning 3-2 away from home in the Spanish Segunda Division. It was a night of attacking football, defensive lapses and a result that underlines how competitive Spain's second tier can be, particularly when a first-team squad meets one of the division's most technically gifted reserve sides.

Match Overview

Matches between Granada CF and Real Sociedad B are often decided by fine margins, and this one was no exception. The hosts, playing with the energy and fearlessness typical of a development side, looked to dominate the ball and move it quickly through midfield. Granada, more experienced and physically robust, were content to press at the right moments and attack directly.

The result was an open contest with five goals, plenty of tactical adjustments from both benches and a final scoreline of 2-3 that Granada will treasure and Real Sociedad B will view as a missed opportunity.

Key Moments

• Granada strike first: An early breakthrough settled the visitors and forced Real Sociedad B to take more risks than they might have planned.
• Hosts reply: Real Sociedad B responded with a goal built from patient possession, showing exactly why their academy side is so respected.
• Back and forth: Both teams traded goals in a spell of end-to-end football that made the scoreline 2-2 and set up a tense finish.
• The winner: Granada found the decisive third goal, and from there they managed the closing stages with the nous of a squad used to the demands of the Segunda Division.

Tactical Story

Real Sociedad B's philosophy is unmistakable: build from the back, trust young players in tight spaces and keep the ball moving. That approach gave them periods of real control and produced goals, but it also invited pressure when Granada pressed high. Twice the visitors won possession in advanced areas and punished the hosts.

Granada CF, by contrast, were pragmatic. Their midfield screened the defence, their wide players attacked the space behind Real Sociedad B's advanced full-backs, and their finishing in the decisive moments was sharper. In a division where goals are hard to come by, scoring three away from home is a statement.

Standout Performers

Granada's attacking unit was the difference on the night, converting half-chances and keeping composure when the game swung against them. Their goalkeeper also made crucial interventions during Real Sociedad B's best spells, particularly when the scoreline was level.

For Real Sociedad B, the young midfielders impressed with their technical quality and vision, and the goalscorers will take confidence from finding the net in such a high-level fixture. The learning curve, however, remains steep when it comes to game management.

What It Means

Three points on the road against a well-coached opponent is exactly the kind of result that builds a promotion push in the Spanish Segunda Division. For Real Sociedad B, the priority remains development, but defeats like this one also serve as valuable lessons in the fine margins that decide professional matches.
