CF Damm U19 secured a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over UD Valle de Aranguren U19 in the Spanish U19 League on Saturday evening. The visitors had to work for the result, but they showed composure in the decisive moments and left with three important points after a competitive contest.

UD Valle de Aranguren U19 made the home side difficult to break down for long periods, and the match was far tighter than the final scoreline might suggest. CF Damm’s ability to find answers in key phases proved the difference, especially after the hosts responded to going behind.

Match overview

CF Damm started with intent, looking to impose themselves through quick passing and movement in the final third. Valle de Aranguren, however, were organized and compact, closing central spaces and forcing Damm to build attacks through wider areas. The home side’s discipline made the first half a tactical battle rather than an open contest.

The breakthrough came when Damm increased the tempo and found a way through the defensive block. Valle de Aranguren responded well, though, and their equaliser gave the home crowd a lift. The match then became a test of nerve and game management, and Damm handled that challenge better in the closing stages.

Key moments

• Damm’s opener: A patient attacking move broke the deadlock and rewarded the visitors for their growing control.
• Valle de Aranguren’s response: The home side found an equaliser and briefly looked capable of turning the game around.
• Winning goal: CF Damm regained the lead with a well-timed attacking sequence, forcing Valle de Aranguren to chase the game again.
• Late defending: The visitors stayed compact in the final minutes and protected their advantage under pressure.

Tactical story

CF Damm’s performance was built on patience. They did not force too many passes in the first half and instead kept circulating the ball, waiting for gaps to appear. Their midfielders were key to this approach, offering passing options and ensuring the team retained structure even when Valle de Aranguren pressed.

Valle de Aranguren’s plan was clear: stay compact, deny space between the lines and use quick transitions when possible. That approach worked for long stretches and produced an equaliser. However, the home side struggled to maintain the same intensity after Damm restored their lead, and their final efforts lacked the precision needed to find a second equaliser.

Standout performers and season impact

CF Damm’s attacking players showed good decision-making in the final third, while their defenders produced important interventions late on. The victory underlines the value of squad depth and tactical flexibility in the Spanish U19 League, where matches are often decided by small margins and set-piece situations.

For UD Valle de Aranguren U19, the defeat will be frustrating because the team competed well and had moments of control. A 1-2 loss shows they can live with strong opposition, but they will need to convert promising spells into points. For CF Damm, the away win is a confidence boost and a useful reminder that they can grind out results even when not at their most fluent.

In the wider league picture, this kind of result can matter greatly. Away victories against resilient sides are often the ones that keep a title challenge or a top-half push on track. CF Damm will move on with renewed belief, while Valle de Aranguren will look to respond quickly in their next fixture.
