Tactical story

Tenerife U19’s performance was defined by their aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation. The midfield trio worked as a unit, closing down passing lanes and forcing Puertos Las Palmas U19 into long balls that were comfortably defended. With the full-backs advancing high, Tenerife created overloads on the flanks and delivered a steady stream of crosses into the penalty area.

Puertos Las Palmas U19 sat deep in an attempt to stay compact, but the plan was undone by Tenerife’s early goal and the home side’s ability to sustain pressure. The visitors improved briefly at the start of the second half, but Tenerife’s third goal effectively ended any hopes of a comeback. From there, the home side managed the game maturely, keeping possession and limiting their opponents to speculative efforts.

Standout players

Aitor Hernández was the clear attacking focal point, scoring twice and constantly troubling the Puertos Las Palmas defence with his movement. Diego Martín’s goal was reward for a busy display in midfield, while Marcos Cabrera controlled the rhythm of the game with intelligent passing and disciplined positioning. At the back, Tenerife’s centre-back pairing dealt comfortably with the visitors’ limited attacking threat.

For Puertos Las Palmas U19, the goalkeeper prevented an even heavier defeat with several saves, including a sharp stop early in the second half. The captain tried to organise the defence and calm possession when possible, but the team struggled to find a foothold in the match for long periods.
