Torrent CF U19 delivered one of the standout attacking performances of the Spanish U19 League season so far, defeating Patacona CF U19 5-2 on Sunday, 20 September 2026. The away side recovered from an early deficit and then ran riot in the second half, with a clinical hat-trick and a series of sharp counter-attacks blowing the local derby wide open.

The result strengthens Torrent’s position in the Spanish U19 League standings and hands Patacona CF U19 a difficult home defeat in a Valencia-region youth rivalry that has grown more competitive in recent seasons.

Match Overview

Patacona CF U19 started the brighter of the two teams and took the lead in the 12th minute when Diego Alcaraz pounced on a loose ball inside the box and finished confidently. For a brief period, the hosts looked capable of controlling the tempo with quick combinations through midfield.

Torrent responded with maturity. Their equaliser arrived in the 18th minute through Pablo Ferrer, who latched onto a through-ball and slotted past the goalkeeper. From that moment, the visitors grew in confidence. Ferrer turned provider in the 34th minute, setting up Marcos Gil for a composed finish and a 2-1 lead.

Deep into first-half stoppage time, Torrent struck again. Ferrer grabbed his second of the match with a low drive from the edge of the area, sending his side into the break with a 3-1 advantage. Patacona pulled one back in the 61st minute through Hugo Martínez, but Torrent immediately reasserted control. Ferrer completed his hat-trick in the 72nd minute, and Sergio Navarro added a fifth in the 85th to seal a comprehensive 5-2 victory.

Tactical Story

Patacona CF U19 began with a high defensive line and aggressive pressing, hoping to pin Torrent deep in their own half. It worked early on, but once Torrent found ways to play through the first line of pressure, the match tilted decisively.

Torrent’s midfield trio controlled the centre of the pitch after the 20th minute, and their wide players consistently stretched Patacona’s back four. The visitors showed excellent transition speed, turning defence into attack within a few passes. Patacona’s defence struggled with runs in behind, especially in the second half when spaces grew larger.

Torrent’s 4-3-3 shape allowed their central striker, Pablo Ferrer, to drift into pockets between the centre-backs and full-backs. Patacona never fully solved that problem, and Ferrer’s movement was the foundation for the away side’s five-goal display.

Standout Players

• Pablo Ferrer (Torrent CF U19): The clear man of the match. A hat-trick plus an assist, with relentless movement and sharp finishing.
• Marcos Gil (Torrent CF U19): Controlled the midfield tempo and scored a crucial second goal for his side.
• Sergio Navarro (Torrent CF U19): Added energy from wide areas and capped the performance with the fifth goal.
• Diego Alcaraz (Patacona CF U19): One of the few bright spots for the hosts, scoring early and working hard throughout.
• Hugo Martínez (Patacona CF U19): Took his goal well and tried to spark a comeback in the second half.

Spanish U19 League Standings and Season Impact

The 5-2 win gives Torrent CF U19 a major boost in the Spanish U19 League table, adding three away points and a healthy goal difference swing. In youth football, goal difference can be decisive when teams are separated by small margins at the end of the campaign, so the five-goal output carries extra value.

For Patacona CF U19, the defeat is a learning experience. They showed attacking promise in patches, but the defensive gaps exposed by Torrent’s quick transitions will need attention. The coaching staff will likely focus on rest defence and tracking runners in behind before the next fixture.<
