Tactical story

Deportivo's success came from their intensity without the ball. They pressed Compostela's back line high, forcing rushed passes and creating chances from regained possession. In attack, their wide players stretched the defence and opened space for midfield runners. Compostela struggled to cope with that pressure early on but adjusted after half-time, pressing higher themselves and finding more joy in wide areas. The visitors' goal gave them belief, but Deportivo's response was mature: they slowed the tempo, reclaimed control, and then struck on the break to end the contest.

Standout performers

Deportivo's midfield drove the performance, combining energy with intelligent distribution and supporting the attack throughout. Their forward line was sharp in the final third, while the defence dealt with Compostela's improved second-half pressure. For Compostela U19, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, and the team's second-half response showed character despite the defeat.

Compostela U19 will take encouragement from their second-half performance, but the match underlined the importance of surviving early pressure.
