CD Mosquito U19 claimed a solid 2-0 victory over CD Utrera U19 in the Spanish U19 League on Sunday night at the Campo de Fútbol El Soto. A goal just before half-time and a late second sealed the points for the hosts in a disciplined performance.

Match Overview

The first half was a cagey affair, with both teams canceling each other out. Mosquito broke the deadlock in the 38th minute and took control thereafter. Utrera pushed for an equalizer in the second half but were caught on the counter, allowing Mosquito to double their lead and secure the win.

Key Moments

• 38' – 1-0: Daniel Ortega gave Mosquito the lead with a precise low shot from the edge of the box.
• 72' – 2-0: Rubén Gil sealed the win with a breakaway goal after a swift counter-attack.
• 85' – Red card: Utrera's Manuel Reyes was sent off for a reckless challenge, summing up a frustrating night for the visitors.

Tactical Story

Mosquito set up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to control possession, while Utrera defended in a deep 4-4-2 block. The hosts struggled to break through initially but found joy down the left flank. After taking the lead, Mosquito sat back and invited pressure, then used their pace on the counter to score the second. Utrera's lack of creativity in the final third was their undoing.

Standout Players

Daniel Ortega was Mosquito's creative spark and took his goal well. Rubén Gil impressed with his speed and composure for the second goal. Utrera's goalkeeper Javier Núñez made several saves to keep the score respectable.

Season Impact

The three points lift Mosquito up the Spanish U19 League table and extend their unbeaten home record. Utrera remain in the lower half and will be concerned about their attacking output. Both teams have little time to rest before their next fixtures.
