How the game unfolded

San Felix CF U19 made the brighter start and took the lead when an early attacking move exposed space in the Calavera defence. The visitors looked comfortable for a short period, pressing with energy and looking to disrupt Calavera’s attempts to build from the back.

Calavera responded well rather than allowing the setback to define the match. Their midfield began to win more of the ball, and the wide players started to find space in advanced areas. The equaliser arrived before half-time after a period of sustained pressure, giving the home side momentum going into the break.

The second half was more controlled from Calavera. They circulated the ball with greater patience, pushed San Felix deeper, and created the decisive moment with a well-worked attack. San Felix pushed for a late equaliser and had a few promising moments from set pieces, but Calavera defended with enough composure to protect the lead.

Tactical story

Calavera CF U19’s comeback was built on better control in midfield and more purposeful use of the wide areas. After a shaky opening, their central players began to screen the space in front of the defence and win second balls, allowing the team to sustain attacks rather than being caught on the counter. The equaliser gave them confidence to keep pressing higher after the interval.

San Felix CF U19 remained dangerous when they could break quickly, and their early goal showed how effective they can be when space opens up. However, they found it harder to keep possession as the match wore on, and Calavera’s pressure forced them into longer clearances. The visitors’ goalkeeper kept them in the contest with several saves, but Calavera’s persistence eventually told.

Standout performers

Calavera’s central midfielder was central to the comeback, setting the tempo and linking play between the lines. The home side’s wide forward provided a constant threat and was involved in the build-up to the winning goal, while the centre-backs recovered well after a difficult opening spell. For San Felix, the goalkeeper produced a strong performance, and the forward who scored the opening goal was their most dangerous attacking outlet.

Season impact

The victory gives Calavera CF U19 an important confidence boost in the Spanish U19 League and rewards their patience after conceding early. For San Felix CF U19, the defeat is a frustrating one after a promising start, but the performance showed enough attacking quality to suggest they can respond in their next fixture. In youth football, matches like this are valuable lessons in managing momentum, protecting leads, and reacting to adversity.
