Fundacion Albacete Women claimed a well-earned 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad II Women in the Spanish Segunda Futfem, delivering a controlled performance that combined defensive solidity with clinical finishing. In a league full of ambitious reserve sides and historic clubs, this was a win that underlined Albacete's credentials as genuine contenders.

Match Overview

The Segunda Futfem — Spain's second tier of women's football — has become one of the most competitive development leagues in Europe, featuring first-team squads chasing promotion alongside the reserve sides of La Liga F giants. Real Sociedad II Women, the second team of the San Sebastián club, arrived as a technically gifted outfit known for producing young Spanish internationals.

Fundacion Albacete, one of the historic names in Spanish women's football with a long tradition in the professional game, hosted the fixture and produced a disciplined display to take all three points.

Key Moments

• First half control: Albacete dictated the tempo early, pressing high and preventing Real Sociedad II from playing out comfortably from the back.
• Opening goal: The breakthrough arrived through a well-crafted attacking move, finished confidently to put the hosts ahead.
• Defensive resilience: Real Sociedad II improved after the break, but Albacete's back line held firm, marshalling the game with maturity.
• Second goal: Albacete sealed the win with a second goal, this time born from a quick counter-attack that caught the visitors stretched.
• Clean sheet secured: The hosts saw out the closing stages with composure, recording a valuable shutout.

Tactical Story

Albacete's game plan was built on defensive organisation and rapid transitions. Their midfield sat compact, denying Real Sociedad II's playmakers time on the ball, and whenever possession was recovered, the team broke forward with real purpose. Both goals came from this pattern — pressure, turnover, and swift execution in the final third.

Real Sociedad II, as expected, showed flashes of the technical quality that defines the club's youth development. Their midfield rotations and willingness to play through pressure created moments of danger, but they struggled to break down a disciplined Albacete block and lacked the final touch when chances did arrive.

Standout Performers

Albacete's defenders and goalkeeper were the foundation of the result, producing a clean sheet against opponents known for their attacking creativity. The midfield duo controlling the centre of the park deserved equal credit, winning second balls and setting the tempo for the counter-attacks.

Up front, Albacete's forwards took their chances efficiently. Scoring twice against a Real Sociedad II side that is usually well organised is a notable achievement, and the finishing on both goals reflected a team growing in confidence.

Table and Season Impact

Three points and a clean sheet is the ideal combination in the Segunda Futfem, where promotion chases are often decided by defensive records as much as goal tallies. Albacete's win strengthens their position in the standings and gives them momentum heading into the next round of fixtures.

For Real Sociedad II, the defeat is a learning experience. Reserve teams in Spain's second tier measure success by player development as much as by results, and the challenge of facing a well-drilled senior side like Albacete provides exactly the kind of test that accelerates young players' growth.
