Three points in the Segunda Federación Futfem carry significant weight, particularly in fixtures between sides battling for position in a competitive and tightly packed table. Alhama's ability to win from a losing position says as much about their character as their football.

Key moments

• Albacete take the lead: The visitors struck first, capitalising on a defensive lapse and finishing confidently to silence the home crowd.
• Alhama equalise: The hosts responded before the break, pressing higher and finding an equaliser that changed the mood of the match.
• The winner: Alhama completed the turnaround in the second half, converting a well-worked attacking move to take a 2-1 lead.
• Holding on: Fundacion Albacete pushed for an equaliser, but Alhama's defence stayed strong through a tense closing period.

The tactical story

The turning point was Alhama's decision to press higher up the pitch. In the opening twenty minutes they sat off their opponents, allowing Fundacion Albacete to build rhythm and create the opening goal. From the middle of the first half onwards, however, Alhama pushed their defensive line up, closed the space between midfield and defence, and forced turnovers in areas where they could attack quickly.

Fundacion Albacete Women remained organised and threatened on the counterattack, particularly down the flanks, but as the game wore on their attacks became more hurried. Alhama's midfielders worked relentlessly to track runners, and their goalkeeper commanded her area well during the late aerial bombardment.

Standout performers

Alhama's attacking players deserve credit for their patience. Rather than forcing shots from distance, they continued to combine until the right opening appeared. The scorer of the winning goal showed excellent composure, and the wide players consistently stretched the Albacete defence with direct running.

For Fundacion Albacete Women, the opening goal was a reminder of their attacking quality, and their goalkeeper produced several saves that kept the deficit to a single goal. Their challenge now is turning bright starts into full-match performances.

What it means for the season

This is the kind of result that can define a season in the Segunda Federación Futfem. Coming from behind to beat a direct rival builds belief and lifts a team up the standings, while also improving the goals-scored column that often decides ties in the final classification. Alhama CF Women will take real confidence into their next fixtures.

Fundacion Albacete Women leave with nothing despite an encouraging first half, but their performance offered plenty of evidence that better results are within reach.

Final score: Alhama CF Women 2-1 Fundacion Albacete Women. A comeback win, three important points, and a statement of intent from the hosts.
