Villa de Simancas came from behind to beat Bejar Industrial 2-1 in the Spanish Regional League on Saturday night, with Alvaro Tejeda’s late header completing a deserved comeback at the Municipal de Simancas.

The home side conceded early against a dangerous Bejar Industrial counter-attack but grew into the game after the break. A second-half equaliser shifted the momentum, and Tejeda’s header eight minutes from time gave Villa de Simancas a win that their second-half pressure merited.

Match overview

Bejar Industrial started brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute when Ruben Cuesta finished off a swift break down the left. Villa de Simancas responded well, dominating possession for the rest of the first half without finding a way through a compact visiting defence.

The equaliser arrived in the 52nd minute from the penalty spot after a foul inside the area. Mario Encinas converted confidently, and from that point the home side looked the more likely winner. Villa de Simancas pushed their full-backs higher and created a string of chances before Tejeda met a whipped cross at the near post.

Tactical story

Bejar Industrial’s early goal was built on direct running and quick switches of play, but they struggled to sustain pressure as the match wore on. Villa de Simancas adjusted by pushing their midfield higher and forcing the visitors deeper, which allowed the home side to recycle possession and deliver more crosses into the box.

The decisive tactical detail was Villa de Simancas’ willingness to commit extra bodies forward in the final 20 minutes. That risk could have left them exposed on the counter, but their ball retention improved and Bejar Industrial were unable to find the equaliser.

Standout performers

Tejeda’s winning goal capped a strong second-half display, while Encinas was central to Villa de Simancas’ control in midfield and showed composure from the penalty spot. For Bejar Industrial, Cuesta’s first-half goal and overall movement were the bright spots on a difficult away night.

What the result means

The comeback win strengthens Villa de Simancas’ position in the Spanish Regional League and gives them momentum heading into their next fixture. Bejar Industrial leave with a narrow defeat but will know that their first-half performance showed they can trouble teams in the division.
