UA Horta and FC Argentona shared the points after a 0-0 draw in the Spanish Regional League on Sunday, 18 October 2026, with Horta's territorial control met by a resilient Argentona defensive display.

Match overview

UA Horta dictated much of the play, circulating the ball with patience and pushing their full-backs forward to create width. Argentona, however, were well organised without the ball and limited the home side to mostly speculative efforts from outside the box. The visitors grew into the game as it progressed and carried a threat on the counter, but neither side could find the breakthrough. The final whistle confirmed a result that felt more satisfying for Argentona than for Horta, who enjoyed the better of the possession but lacked the final touch.

Key moments

• 22nd minute: Horta's first clear chance came after a flowing move down the right, but the resulting shot was blocked at close range.
• 49th minute: Argentona broke quickly and forced the Horta goalkeeper into a low save at the near post.
• 63rd minute: Horta found the net from a header, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
• 84th minute: A late Horta corner caused confusion in the box, but Argentona cleared the ball away from danger.

Tactical story

Horta's game plan revolved around possession and patient build-up, with their midfield looking to switch play and open gaps in Argentona's block. The visitors responded by defending narrow and forcing Horta into wide areas, where crosses were easier to defend. Argentona's counter-attacks were direct and purposeful, often targeting the space behind Horta's advanced full-backs. In the final 20 minutes, Horta increased the tempo and pushed more players forward, but Argentona's back line held its shape and dealt with the pressure.

Standout performers

The Argentona goalkeeper was instrumental in earning the clean sheet, handling crosses confidently and making a key second-half save. Horta's central defenders also performed well, snuffing out counter-attacks and allowing their team to maintain pressure. In midfield, Horta's deep-lying passer kept the ball moving, while Argentona's midfield worked tirelessly to screen the defence and disrupt rhythm.

What the result means

For UA Horta, the draw will feel like an opportunity missed after controlling the ball for long periods. For FC Argentona, the away point and clean sheet provide a useful platform, especially given the defensive discipline shown. In a Spanish Regional League campaign where consistency is crucial, both sides will take lessons from a match decided by fine margins rather than clear superiority.
