UE Tavernes Fight Back to Win at CD Thader

UE Tavernes came from behind to claim a 2-1 away win at CD Thader in the Spanish Regional League on 20 September 2026. It was a victory built on resilience rather than dominance, with the visitors recovering from an early setback to take control of the contest and secure all three points.

The match began at 17:30 in front of a home crowd expecting their side to make the most of familiar surroundings, and for a period it looked as though that expectation would be rewarded. What followed, however, was a well-executed comeback from a Tavernes team that grew into the game.

Match Overview

• Fixture: CD Thader vs UE Tavernes
• Competition: Spanish Regional League
• Final score: CD Thader 1-2 UE Tavernes
• Date: 20 September 2026

Key Moments

CD Thader opened the scoring first, converting their best passage of play of the opening period. The goal lifted the home side and for a while they looked the more confident team, pressing high and forcing Tavernes into hurried clearances.

The equaliser changed everything. Tavernes found space between the lines, worked the ball into a dangerous position, and finished with conviction to level the match before half-time. From that moment, the momentum shifted decisively in the visitors' favour.

The winning goal arrived in the second half, and it was the product of sustained pressure. Tavernes kept the ball patiently, drew Thader out of position, and struck the decisive blow. Thader pushed for a late response but found the visiting defence organised and increasingly difficult to break down.

Tactical Story

The game turned on adjustments made after the opening exchanges. Tavernes increased their intensity in midfield, closing the space that CD Thader had exploited early on. By winning more duels in the centre of the pitch, they effectively cut off the supply line to the home side's forwards.

CD Thader, meanwhile, struggled to adapt. After conceding the equaliser, their shape became stretched as they chased the game, leaving gaps that Tavernes were happy to exploit on the counter. Their best moments in the second half came from set pieces, but the final touch eluded them.

Standout Performers

Tavernes' goalscorers took the plaudits, but their midfield engine was arguably the most influential player on the pitch — covering ground, linking play, and setting the tempo after the interval. The goalkeeper also made two important saves to protect the lead.

CD Thader's opening goalscorer was their brightest spark, and their captain drove the team forward in the closing stages, but it was not enough to prevent a frustrating home defeat.

Season Impact

Comeback away wins do more than add points — they build belief. UE Tavernes will take real confidence from the manner of this victory, particularly the way they controlled the second half after a difficult start. For CD Thader, the lesson is a familiar one at this level: leads must be protected with the same discipline required to earn them.

Both sides now look ahead to their next fixtures, with Tavernes hoping this result becomes a platform and Thader eager to respond quickly.
