CD Pedroneras claimed a deserved 2-0 away victory over CD Quintanar del Rey B in the Spanish Regional League on Sunday, with a goal in each half securing all three points. The win lifts Pedroneras up the table and extends their unbeaten run on the road.

Match Overview

CD Quintanar del Rey B, the reserve team of the senior club, started brightly but were unable to break down a well-organized Pedroneras defence. The visitors took the lead against the run of play in the 32nd minute and doubled their advantage early in the second half. Quintanar del Rey B pushed forward in search of a response, but Pedroneras managed the game expertly to see out the win.

Key Moments

The opening goal came from a quick counter-attack, with Pedroneras' striker finishing confidently after being played through on goal. Quintanar del Rey B's best chance fell to their winger, who shot narrowly wide from a promising position. The decisive moment arrived in the 55th minute when a defensive mix-up allowed Pedroneras to score their second. The home side's frustrations grew, and they were unable to find a consolation goal despite late pressure.

Tactical Story

Quintanar del Rey B lined up in a 4-3-3, looking to use their youthful energy to press high and create chances. However, Pedroneras were happy to sit back, absorb pressure, and hit on the break. Their 4-4-2 formation was compact and disciplined, with the midfielders shielding the defence effectively. Pedroneras' wingers tracked back well, and their centre-backs dominated the aerial battles. The visitors' game plan was executed to perfection, frustrating the home side and capitalizing on their mistakes.

Standout Performers

Pedroneras' striker was the hero, scoring the opening goal and causing problems with his physicality. The central midfielder controlled the tempo and provided the assist for the second goal. In defence, the goalkeeper made two important saves to preserve the clean sheet. For Quintanar del Rey B, the young midfielder showed glimpses of quality, but the team lacked a cutting edge in the final third. The home side's captain tried to rally his teammates, but it was not enough.

League Impact

This victory moves CD Pedroneras into a more comfortable position in the regional league, boosting their confidence and keeping them in contention for a top-half finish. CD Quintanar del Rey B remain in the lower reaches and will need to improve quickly to avoid a relegation battle. The reserve team's development is important, but results at this level matter for morale and progression.

CD Pedroneras will look to build on this away win in their next match, while Quintanar del Rey B must regroup and find a way to turn possession into goals.
