CD Javea delivered a commanding away performance to beat Calpe 3-1 in the Spanish Regional League on October 4, 2026. The visitors controlled large spells of the match at the Estadi Municipal de Calpe, scoring at key moments to secure a deserved three points and deepen Calpe’s early-season struggles.

Match Overview

Calpe hosted their regional rivals with hopes of building on a mixed start to the campaign, but they were undone by a clinical and organised CD Javea side. Javea pressed high from the first whistle, forcing Calpe into hurried clearances and capitalising on turnovers. The away team’s midfield trio dominated possession, while their front line stretched the Calpe defence with intelligent runs. Calpe showed brief signs of a comeback after equalising in the first half, but Javea’s quality told in the end.

Key Moments

• 8’ – Calpe 0-1: Álvaro Miralles opened the scoring for CD Javea with a precise finish after a neat one-two on the edge of the box.
• 33’ – Calpe 1-1: Diego Ferrer equalised for the hosts, converting a low cross at the near post to spark brief celebrations.
• 52’ – Calpe 1-2: Marc Puig restored Javea’s lead with a powerful header from a corner, rising above the Calpe defence.
• 78’ – Calpe 1-3: Lucas Vidal sealed the win with a calm finish on the counter, rounding the goalkeeper after a defence-splitting pass.

Tactical Story

CD Javea lined up in a fluid 4-3-3, with their midfielders rotating to create numerical advantages in central areas. Their high press forced Calpe into long balls, which were easily dealt with by Javea’s centre-backs. Calpe, set up in a 4-4-2, struggled to string passes together and were often left chasing shadows. After Ferrer’s equaliser, Calpe briefly gained confidence, but Javea’s response was immediate and ruthless. The introduction of fresh legs on the wings for Javea in the second half stretched the game further, and the third goal was a textbook counter-attack.

Standout Players

Álvaro Miralles was a constant threat for CD Javea, capping his performance with the opening goal. Marc Puig’s aerial presence and leadership at the back were crucial, while Lucas Vidal’s pace and finishing made him a nightmare for the Calpe defence. For Calpe, Diego Ferrer took his goal well and worked tirelessly, but he received little support from his teammates on a difficult evening.

Table and Season Impact

The victory moves CD Javea up the Spanish Regional League standings, strengthening their push for a top-half finish or better. Calpe, meanwhile, remain in the bottom half and will need to address defensive lapses quickly if they are to climb away from trouble. Javea’s away form is becoming a real asset, and they will look to build on this result in their next fixture. Calpe face a tricky away trip next, where they must show more resilience to stop the rot.

Head-to-Head Context

CD Javea have now won three of the last four meetings between the two clubs, with Calpe’s only success in that period coming in a narrow home win two seasons ago. The rivalry remains fierce, but Javea’s recent dominance will give them a psychological edge for future encounters.
