AEC Manlleu and UE Rubi shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw in the Spanish Regional League on Sunday night at the Camp Municipal d'Esports de Manlleu. In a tense, evenly matched contest, Rubi took a first-half lead before Manlleu responded after the break to earn a point.

Match Overview

The game was a typical regional league battle: intense, physical, and decided by small margins. Rubi started brighter and were rewarded with a 23rd-minute goal. Manlleu grew into the contest and found an equalizer just after the hour mark. Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but resolute defending and some wasteful finishing kept the score level.

Key Moments

• 23' – 0-1: UE Rubi's forward Marc Soler broke the deadlock with a low shot after a quick counter-attack.
• 61' – 1-1: AEC Manlleu equalized when Pau Ferrer headed home a corner from close range.
• 78' – Red card: Rubi's defender Albert Roca was sent off for a second yellow card, forcing his team to defend deep.
• 89' – Chance: Manlleu's Joan Vila struck the post with a free-kick, nearly snatching all three points.

Tactical Story

Manlleu lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to dominate possession, but Rubi's compact 4-4-2 frustrated them. The visitors sat deep and used quick transitions, which led to their goal. After the red card, Manlleu laid siege to the Rubi penalty area, but the visitors defended with great discipline, clearing numerous crosses. Manlleu will feel they should have won, while Rubi will be satisfied with a hard-earned away point.

Standout Players

Pau Ferrer was Manlleu's best player, not only for his goal but for his tireless runs in midfield. Marc Soler was a constant threat for Rubi before tiring. Rubi's goalkeeper Oriol Mas made two excellent saves late on to preserve the draw.

Season Impact

The point keeps both teams in the middle of the Spanish Regional League table. Manlleu will be frustrated to drop points at home but remain unbeaten in their last three. Rubi extend their unbeaten run on the road. Both will look to build on this result in their next fixtures.
